Added another Battersby to the collection. Expecting the arrival tomorrow. Just a teaser; don't want to give too much away.

No, it's a Diebel Bench Made squached Bulldog I bought from Fred in the 70's. Did you have one like it?

As you all have mentioned before... The Wait! ;)

Heard back from Hats Direct that the Heritage Moonstone Campdraft I ordered is on backorder and they expect them in about 4 weeks. I'm guessing it will take about 3 weeks after that for shipping to reach me.

I just put up an Akubra Snowy River for sale... So if that sells I might just have to get another hat here locally or on my trip to TN next week!

Really wish we had a decent hat shop locally!

  5. It really seems to depend on where you live and how efficient the various agencies are that are responsible for delivering it to you safely. I live in the southwestern corner of the continental U.S. (the Los Angeles area) and received one of my Akubras in only four days, but the others took seven to ten days to make the journey.

    :D Love it!

Wore it today actually, I just don't like to wear it in rain. :)

Hey Tuned: got it. So, when it starts raining tuck it into your shirt. It’s much easier to dry your head than your hat!!
    Be well. B

  9. I wear my hats as much for protection from the sun and rain as simply because I like them. So if I can't wear a hat because it might get rained on, I have no use for it.
  10. I just gave Staker Custom Hats the go-ahead for a new hat. It will be my first from this company better known for their western hats. I found this hat at their Etsy store. They also have a website:

I specified a 6" open crown to go with its 3" brim. I don't have anything quite like it. I chose the rabbit fur felt as his beaver and blend hats don't look like a good value to me.

It's in! Just have to take pictures of it. You're gonna like this one, Mike! This came in too, to accompany the hat.

  15. I saw this book while researching Battersby. It is available on Amazon. This website is cool too.
  16. What is there turnaround time?

  17. I was quoted 11 weeks. Apparently they use a conformer/conformateur for sizing so I'm waiting for that to arrive.

Handsome, B4 I have 2 many “tacos” on Taco Tuesday I wanted to reply. If you like their hat, you should B a customer 4 life. Post a pic of what they send you; make a tracing of the results 4 yourself; ask if they will send you a paper tracing after they get it back.

  19. Will do Jack. I'm already thinking of a second hat, but I'll wait to see how this first turns out. Have a good evening, and take it easy on the "tacos."

No need to worry...as they say in the Texas hill country, "No hill for steppers".
