Recently acquired late 40s-early 50s Stetson 3X western - based on the dimensions and descriptions in the old Miller Stockman catalogs, I believe this model could be either the "Stetson Winner" or possibly a "San Fran, Jr."

Javier, killer Dobbs today, sharp looking hat!

Jeff, two wonderful hats, I really like the Stetson!

Frank, nice outfit and stingy brim! You look good, man.

Lauro, you are the brim up, guy! That style works very good for you!

Sam, nice squatter, wow what a swoop!

David, great looking Penman! Lovely hat!

Robert, nicely shaped Stetson, those hats looks good on you!

Good day and good Thanksgiving eve to all US members. Great hat posts! Truly you folks rock fedoras, bowlers and caps.

Gym this morning, grocery shopping for sharing our Thanksgiving with family and friends tommorrow and now prepaaring the barbeque area and outside seating. Minnesota weather is expected to be a balmy 50'F. Jeepers that will be very different weather than normal.

Back at the gym this afternoon for the last practice before a few days of holiday. The girls and I are due for a much needed break.

I have the day out of work and so I'm just running around town doing errands etc and this is what I wear when I'm doing that.

This brim was $20.00 on ebay with the shipping included.

Inside it has a tag that is sticking "out" from under the sweatbandand stamped on the tag is " memphis cap co. HARCFIELD Headwear "

Then on the left side of the sweatband it has stamped in the band "W.P.L. 4543 HARCFIELD of MEMPHIS 100% Wool" stamped in an oval pattern .

I would be interested just to know something about the Co. thanks in advance.
I just wear it down gangster style and if it takes a hit , oh well ,no big deal, like my old man used to say , It's my bang around hat "

All the Best ,Fashion Frank

My wife's university took the whole Thanksgiving week off (or maybe it's just faculty), so I decided to take the week off too.

While kids are in school, we went on a date at Fisherman's Wharf, crab season just opened, had some seafood, walked around.
This is at Aquatic Park, overlooking the bay, with some old tall ship (and other vintage boats) remodeling and care. Fisherman's Wharf is to the right. Wearing Resistol Beaver Fifteen.

Hi Bad Co,
I didn't actually do the trim. I bought this hat from gtdean here on the forum who purchased it from someone else who did the trimming. Mr. Dean's measurements when I purchased it were 2 1/2" sides and 2 5/8" front and back. This is a size 61 hat so depending on your hat size you may need to cut the brim smaller or larger to be proportional (these same brim dimensions on a size 6 7/8 hat would look much larger).

Thanks,
Sam

Thanks for the quick reply
I wear a size 7 and have a Squatter in every color with two in Black
I've been thinking of cutting one down to the dimensions of a Akubra Adventurer rather than purchasing a black one
Yours really look good

'50-'53 Dobbs Gay Prince

Incredibly warm, short-sleeve weather on this Thanksgiving Eve in Minnesota. Took the afternoon off to get a head start on the long weekend, and visited my friend and barber Walt wearing my O.P.S.-tagged Dobbs Gay Prince.

Before.

After.

Walt's Ivy League.

Safe Travels and Happy Thanksgiving, All! :yo:
