Mmmmm minty!

Cool Deerstalker Michael. You are the one to pull that look off the best.
Everyone needs at least one Deerstalker, Red. And it happens I watched the 1959 version of the Hound of the Baskervilles last night.

Best, Eric -
Get used to it Eric, you keep posting the most beautiful hats, we just have to LIKE them.

A Dobbs Hanover Square on this remarkably mild morning.

Have a good one,

I just love that Hanover Michael. The flecks of color in that overcoat are so beautiful.

That is a fascinating looking hat. I don't think I've ever seen a combination like that - colors and (especially) shape. Very cool.
Thanks Scotty. It is an interesting find from the bay early in my hat addiction. It has great feel to the felt, I think I'll play with it further. The liner for this San Francisco Hatter does have some age to it. Old style oilskin tip cover. The original sweat was toast, so I had Mike Miller replace it and the ribbon. The original ribbon was the same size, just a mousy brown color and in bad shape.

It's a great hat. And yes, the fabric in the coat is some great stuff. Out of the '50s I suspect. But when I was out and about today the only thing that got honorable mention from a bystander was my shoes.

Wingtip balmorals from Porto-Ped, most likely made during the 1960s.

Thanks,
Michael

Impressive Harv!

Thanks to everybody for the birthday wishes yesterday. It was very nice y'all are the best. I hope Ant and Justin had great days yesterday

Perhaps next year, we should all meet up in Kansas City and have a little party!

Or maybe we can meet in Dallas, and I can wear this dark charcoal Mallory.

Despite my (somewhat) aging bones, I'm feeling somewhat youthfully smart under this lid.

Sent directly from my mind to yours.

Very sweet Mallory Jim. Yes, you look 10 years younger under that hat.

The felt is very soft and malleable. Bought for shape, it's not my size, but it's perfect. Mysteries of the sizes

Sweet Adam DH , Looks Great !

I wish. And given my current bent, I wouldn't travel back to when the stuff I want was being made, but back to the mid to late '60s when you could find the Salvation Army full of the stuff for $1 or $2.

Thanks Charlie. I've found some decent hats recently, but that suit might be my single best find ever. At least until the novelty wears off. Ha ha.

While I was waiting around for high tea this afternoon I decided to try out the deerstalker I found yesterday.
