P&C Habbig first.
Thanks!Great post, Steve.
Mike, Super! This hat was made by P. & C. Habig Wien so Austrian.Day 8 of 31 Hat Parade: The Black Homburg. It is hard to pick one to highlight, I have so many (too many?), I blame Stefan! Another German made Homburg sold in one of the large department stores in Europe, Lodenfrey. Large stores could have their name printed in the liner and sweat bands so it is hard to tell the brand name of made this one. Probably manufactured in the late 1950s.

That one is great Brent. Love it.
70 downed pines. Wow! Glad you all are safeGreat looking Strat (and yard) Rockwater! Good to see you stop by the Lounge.
I need to trade off the Strat that my wife never wears for one that fits me -- that is a gap in my collection.
Our property was not really fine tuned, but was looking pretty good until Monday afternoon when a little ol' EF2 decided to visit. Wearing an Akubra Cattleman while thinking over my options for over 70 downed pine trees.

Wow. That is a nice one Doc.
A hat to match a clock. Cool. Lovely linerThis week I will feature the C. G. Wilke Guben, Germany Hat Factory. Founded by Carl Gottlob Wilke in 1822 Guben, Germany. He invented the weather-proof wool hat and was a major contributor in the mechanization of hat making. C. G. Wilke manufactured both Wool and Fur (including Velour) Soft and Stiff Felt Hats. C. G. Wilke Factory was severely damaged during WWII. Guben was the largest hat making center in Germany up to WWII but was heavily damaged during the war. What remained of the Guben Hat Industry infrastructure after WWII was nationalized as VEB United Hutwerke Guben (Guben was located in the GDR).
C. G. Wilke "Helios", 186 grams, possibly early to mid 1930s. This Wool Stiff Felt is in near mint condition. The Form is fantastic along with the Brim work. The Wool Felt has a fantastic finish which exhibits high gloss. The liner really shines especially at the center so probably the reason for calling it "Helios". The sweatband has a reed on the outer edge which is fairly common with old German and Austrian Stiff Felts.
Highly Reflective "Sun Like" Liner
Berlin - Tegel became part of West Berlin post WWII.

Everyone looking great with their fine hat selections.
I went with two today. The Stefeno “Milan” straw to watch the Blue Angels fly over our house today.

Followed up with the Super Borsalino to lay down some sod in front of the house.

Amazing they left Boca Raton at 1:00 flew down to Miami looped around downtown then on to Homestead and back up to fly over us in West Boca less than 25 minutes later.Blare you’ve got it going on today. Great hat, shirt and the Blue Angles. A perfect combination. My brothers sent me video clips of the Blue Angles flying over Homestead and Coral Gables.
