Just finished cleaning up this Stetson 7X Clear Beaver Mode Edge beauty. Nice embroidered "Last Drop" liner and "neither wide nor thin ribbon". I'll post more pics in one of the 7X threads.

That's a great lid! In fact, I'm thinking I should get light beige/ivory soon - always seems to be a toss-up between getting that or gray...

My first Fedora arrived Monday, a stingy brim Bond Fifteen with a Cavanagh edge from Bond, Fifth Avenue. Picked up on eBay last week with a BIN. Wore it out to dinner at a familiar haunt on Tuesday to good reviews. Stingy won't be my most often worn, but I do like it.

T Rick, fantastic hat! Love the dark color and the cavanagh edge. That cav edge tells me that is probably a quality hat.

3 hats purchased through ebay over the last couple of weeks:

1. Private label hat sold through Peller & Mure in Buffalo - probably manufactured by Biltmore. Heavy dense felt, brim has a nice mode edge.

2. green/gray Stetson Bantam that has appeared in FL threads before... first time on my head though!

3. deep green Borsalino diamante twenty-five... it was advertised as a bowler and didn't draw much interest - turned out to be a stingy brim fedora with an open crown that had never seen a bash... I think.

Thanks, I was thinking the same, that's why I went for it. And though I have no real frame of reference, it does feel like a quality piece of work. Looks good both brim up and brim down in front too.

Those are great ones. I especially like the brown one, meaning the color and dimensions. That's quite a find. And you definitely have got the hat attitude. I can't explain it but you've got it.

This green Christys Adventurer arrived Wednesday - not stock, the ribbon is dark brown and I had them (Hornet Hats, London - wonderful company by the way) trim the brim to 2.75" front/back. It's normally 3" f/b, 2.5" on the sides. Crown is 5.75"

Color is Elm, which is a dark green, darker than my Bluegrass Green Campdraft. These photos were taken with my phone, and green is hard to capture, but I think they come close to the actual shade.

Arrived open crown:

Felt is very easy to work with - this is after a quick dry bash right out of the box:

I'm very pleased with the way it turned out. From order to receipt took about 5 weeks, $120.00 shipped to the US with customizations done at no extra cost. I swore this would be my last hat, but they have sooooooo many colors that you won't run across in vintage....

This Open Road (Vintage? Depends on your definition) in Silver Belly arrived in yesterday's mail... it is pristine, looks to have never been worn, bought for $40 BIN w/ $8.95 shipping. Arrived only two days (Iowa to Michigan, way to go USPS!) after auction close via Priority Mail.

Best guess from a Member in another thread so far has it placed as 60's/70's. I may change the crown at some point, but for now I'm really diggin' the Cattleman's bash with a turned down front brim. I expect I will be getting more Open Roads!

Great hats, Alan,

By the way, how about some pics of that #1 Black Stetson you won a couple of weeks ago?

Thank you. In case you didn't see it, I did post some pictures of the Black Stetson in this thread:
http://www.thefedoralounge.com/showthread.php?52652-Black-Beauties

It is really a wonderful hat. Gary White at the custom hatter gave the front brim a bit of a downward. I'm loving it.

I did see the photos, but wanted to see it on your head. It's great, I love the bash and brim treatment you gave it and it looks great in that photo. I'm glad you won it.
