Unpopular music opinions

There are "artists" that may simply be a total turn off to ones ear. No listening to them will open up a greater understanding and allow a change in opinion. Other artists may have been OK at the start but actually lose favor quickly with repeated listening. I have a limited doo-wop appreciation, 2 songs and I am done for the month.

Personal taste - it is what makes us different.

I strive to miss certain 'styles' of music if possible by ducking and diving with the radio channels, but occasionally I blunder onto a 'musical show soundtrack'. Now do not labour under the impression that I dislike a lot of 'musicals' but, those I dislike I dislike a lot.... and one of the singers gets me time and time again, although she is lauded by all and sundry, I fail to see why, and that person is Carol Channing. Her appearance, her voice, her hairstyle in fact everything about her just cranks my disgust vibe into overdrive........

She probably wouldn't like me much either..!!!

Carol Channing!
One of the guys from the Drew Carey Show did the whole Dirty Harry 44 magnum speech as played by Carol Channing. “This here's a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and it can blow your head clean off. Now, you must ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well do you, punk?

Also they did a whole series of celebrity imitations for the "I'm Sparticus!" declaration including as done by Carl Channing.

Simply hilarious.

You know what? I don't like any music from the so called "Golden Days". (30s, 40s or 50s)
Can not think of a single number or single artist...does that mean, I am out of here?

...We yell Freebird at work all the time lol I do have a redneck side!

Perhaps we're brothers in arms, Tom.

Used to be every concert I went to, or wedding, or darn near anywhere that had music playing, some guy would yell Freebird. Unfortunately (or otherwise), this obnoxious addition began to fade from fad.

So I took up the reigns. And yes, I sometimes even yell Freebird! when I'm alone in the car. lol

If Freebird comes on in my truck, the radio reaches full volume. Can't help it!

I seldom listen to regular radio, except for the oldies station at work. I do turn on the polkas at 5 and if I listen to radio, at all, there's a vintage country-western station on AM radio here I do enjoy. Otherwise, it's the old iPod touch hooked to the car radio.

I grew up with that song in high school, still love it. I don't listen to regular radio anymore, so I don't get sick of it. That and some other classics are on my Ipod though, for those times when I just need to Rock out.

So what is this? 20's rag. Modern mix. Strange wierd lyric.

Polyester zoot suit with a digital pocket watch? 30's Mickey Mouse background music with computer generated graphics? Musical steam punk? God speaking in a little girl's voice? Maybe the other guy? Do you believe you can hide?

"Why does He make us feel the questions if He's not gonna give us any answers?"

Ah, but we shoud be able to reason our way to our own answers.

"Reason as motive, or reason as logic, or reason as a way of life? They don't have to give me a reason - I can write my own damn reasons - and that is better than the half-baked tolerance that comes from no longer caring."
