Borsalino Rollable - with that little fan shaped tin.

I have one of those in a cardboard triangular shaped box. Did they come in tins, too?

And, out of pure luck, I just got a green Whippet, too.

So, what would I like?

I have a Stetson Flagship, but I'd one in a bit better condition.

I have a Stetson 7X, but it is from after the 1960s, so it isn't really a 7X... so I'd like a real Stetson 7X from the 50s.

I'd like a Cavanagh but it has to have a 2-1/2 or larger brim and every stinkin time I see a Cavanagh it is one of those dang stingies.

Other than that.... ??

Every time I acquire my current holy grail I realise there's another I've ruled out due to lack of funds. It's always the unobtainable that you pine for the most.

My holy grail used to be a mint silk topper in my size and when I finally found an affordable one I realised I still didn't have a light grey Lock & Co homburg - like Winston Churchill wore - but they're so rare I'd ruled it out until I found one on ebay.

I always had assumed they were made of metal - let me go and check....

.... Oh, wait a second, I don't have one!! :D:D

LOL

Well, I guess it is certainly possible that they had tins, too (in fact, I would guess it is likely, not just possible). I've had two of these and both were in cardboard boxes.

Black cavanagh with 2"+ brim and the cavanagh with the grosgrain brim. I'd pay a good sum to get those.

Vintage Whippet, OR, or Strat, Playboy.. and maybe a really nice Montecristi. Possibly a long haired Borsalino.
I got a ways to go..

I've always wanted a Mallory Nokabout. But since I gave up buying hats, I don't want it anymore

They are made of hardened cardboard, here's mine: your grail ;)

That's wierd...I just got a Whippet and a Strat, and I already had the Long haired Borsalino. What size do you wear and when next I see said items I'll PM you.

(Yes, I am an enabler.)

Stratoliner, Playboy and whippet! In that order.

Hmm...don't have a Playboy yet...

Back to the hunt!

Where's my Hat... ? in Upstate NY!
For me it would be a Borsalino (I do not have a Specific style, since I am still learning here) but every Borso I have gone after I have lost out on :( That's the luck of someone budgeting their hat collection.

second, would be a custom or Limited Edition VS by Art Fawcett (one soon day)!!!

Also, a genuine Panama.

In the mean time I will continue to grow my collection one bargain at a time, while continuing my passion for the lost art of hat wearing. And someday I will splurge and get those custom :) till then happy fishing on the bay and lounging.

No doubt I've already answered this in the past. But after all the comparisons of Open Road types, it would be an Open Road 7x clear beaver. Or, any Stetson fedora 7x clear beaver.

I am interested in building my Mallory collection so a model 10 and 25 with the 25 in snow. A Dallas and a Nokabout would be great. I would also like to add some more vintage Milan's just picked up a nice one today for 20 bucks.
