This vintage '40s tie is wonderful -- and it's deadstock. Didn't go for a big price:

I am sure not everyone is that enamored with California.

John Lofgren Monkey Boots Shinki Horsebuttt - $1,136 The classic monkey boot silhouette in an incredibly rich Shinki russet horse leather.
Grant Stone Diesel Boot Dark Olive Chromexcel - $395 Goodyear welted, Horween Chromexcel, classic good looks.
Schott 568 Vandals Jacket - $1,250 The classic Perfecto motorcycle jacket, in a very special limited-edition Schott double rider style. Yeah, but 1940s California was a different place.
The 40s is when the decline started.
Then this tie was the last good thing to come out of it before the decline.![]()
The 40s is when the decline started.
 Well it is not from a time when the only artists we have are concentrated on drawing Che on velvet.![]()
And the fact that it's a Galet brought the price up...
Decline? Los Angeles was the place to be in the '50s.![]()

Countess Mara's are always pretty timeless, regardless of decade!
Wow. Any tags?
The handpainted one is a Hollyvogue Handpainted in California. The swirly one's label says "Deutsch Clo. Co. Flandreau S. Dakota. I've never heard of it myself. but it has some awesome Jacquard printing on it that doesn't show up in the pics.
Speaking of Hollyvogues, had my eye on this one for some time but haven't pulled the trigger (it's $12 but I usually try not to pay more than 10 for a tie if I can help it)
