Trickers has been brilliant but I have not worn them in a while because of a changed work situation so they are both for sale.

Johnny

These boots clearly demonstrate the real reason that quality of well made shoes or boots are worth the money spent for them. I can about bet these boots will "go" for a few more years with little problem.

Are you saying that they might as well just stamp it with "Junk"? :p

I will take the "fifth" on that question...(and that "fifth" may be Jack Daniels! Weeeeeeee heheheheh haaaaww!

Actually if I had those shoes (lucky me they are not mine)...I would have to make good sport of them....target practice for my pump 12 gauge......but someone I know sent me the picture and asked me what I thought.......lol!

The fifth for me would be a good single malt. :p

One shot from that 12 gauge and there would be nothing left. Boy, that reply required a lot of diplomacy. :p

my mother had a pair of those yeti boots back in the early 70's we used to love em, I pined for a pair as a 5 year old and couldn't wait until I was big enough for a pair of my own!!!!
Here's a pair of Geof Cox I got yesterday, not sure of era 50's/60's? but they fit well are in great condition with no splits, cracks apart from some fool putting them on without untying the laces judging by the very slightly broken down backs, they are made with "specially selected hand cut uppers no less"!!!

It will be far more worse than that my friend! Oh lord have mercy....it was already some nice pairs BEFORE we left to go to the Casino to celebrate our Anniversary....and as luck would have it, I hits several nice jackpots.....we got home later last night....and my Wife lets a few "cats" out of the bag....lol! Pictures to follow later, however, I was right about the Barkers....and a pair of NOS Specs from J&M, but the real bread and butter going with the steak and potato dinner is, MTO' Vass shoes, she said she was "eye balling" them and now with the extra cash in the stash from the Casino, she will be emailing for the three pair special someone has on line.....and then she says, she wants a pair of custom boots.....for herself! lol! Now she has those lil bitty feet as some small Gals have, and I told her, "geez, do they make them that small"?..."maybe we can check out the boots made for children"?????? I mean it is a no brainer....custom made boots for women are expensive....lil kiddies boots are a dime a dozen.....which means, maybe one more pair of Barkers perhaps? lol! I actually do not mind is she wants to have some custom made boots for herself....as it is, I am going to the bakery soon to grab a "strawberry pie" for her....least I can do for my Wife, specially as she is shopping like crazy for me, and the money won at the Casino is funding more shoes....we had a blast!

I wore my pair of 1920s The Pluck Shoe shoes. Surprisingly comfortable. The rubber heel needs replacing as it is chipping but....

I have seen a few pair of nice vintage rubber heels listed on eBay, for heel replacement, I think some were CatsPaw and a few GoodYear. If you desire to do a direct replacement and stick to a rubber heel, you may want to do some shopping for the new heels. But if you have a decent cobbler in your area, he (or she) can always make up some heels that would have a vintage look to them non-rubber.

I have not yet found a pair of vintage Pluck style boots that are in good condition that would fit me. There are a few modern ones for sale, but they are sadly made with little to no quality, not worth buying....

I actually forgot about them for a while and they got burried in my closet until a friend mentioned them. I took them out and treated them a few times and they were ready to go again. :p I wore them with a black double breasted suit yesterday and no one noticed. lol
The local cobbler will likely have something to match. He has worked miracles with some of my old shoes. He'll porbably give them back to me looking like patent leather too. :p
