Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.... One of the worst films I've ever attemped to watch [gave up two thirds in] Crap acting from Downey Jr. with some underused talent elsewhere. A total mess and muddle of a plot, that became a total bore.

Guy Richie can :censored: bog off :tsk:

Yeah, I couldn't watch the first one they came out with starring Downey Jr.
For me, and it's my little cross to bear, I feel Jeremy Brett was as close to Holmes as you'll ever get.

Hammett (1982).
Somewhat interesting once you get into it.

David Suchet has done the same amount of work and research to become Hercule Perot.
Anything he could get his hands on about the character....
It's paid off IMHO.

Man of Steel on Saturday. Darker than Batman? Probably not, but it's been Nolanized into a superperson for the post-moderns, with some crude language thrown in. I say this as a fan of the re-booted Batman films by Nolan and Inception. As someone in a preceding post noted, it could be better with more characterization and less fighting. The action sequence on the street in Smallville and the climatic clash in New York, however, are amazing.

So, it was worth it?

George Reeves! Now there was a Superman!
Yes, but clearly not faster than a speeding bullet.

What, too soon? :D

...great Jimmy...
Years ago I read an interview with Alice Cooper in which he stated he saw Jack Larson on a commercial air flight and, without thinking, blurted out, "Hey, Jimmy Olsen!" He said Larson good-naturedly shushed him and replied, "I'm still trying to live that down." lol

Live it down! He was the best there ever was. Just goes to show that actors back then underestimated their value.....
