We're finally starting to feel better after almost 3 weeks of The Crud. Took Lily to visit Santa the day before Christmas Eve (never again! almost 2 hour wait!), and this might be my favorite Santa photo of her. I told her to look for Elsa in the camera. (Am I the only parent that can't stand that dadgum movie??)

She's doing the best (thanks to amoxicillin knocking out her ear infection, allergic rash - no more vaporub! - and nasty cough-to-gag-to-barf). I'm still dealing with plugged ears and dizziness. I'm only on day 9 of this, though.... so I'm doing ok. Hubby is whiny about not feeling better, but he won't take medicine to help feel better. Bigger baby than she is!

Next year, we go just after Thanksgiving to visit Santa. Seriously. The wait (outside!!!!) was for the birds.

This one is a very sad photo to share for me.

We got word this morning that my brother-in-law (of nearly 30 years) was killed while defending my niece's house from a couple of gang-bangers. She'd been having a bonfire party to celebrate New Year's Eve, and these "thugs" didn't like being uninvited from attending. It is a very sad situation for our family as all three of his kids were at the house when this happened, my brother-in-law and a nephew exchanging gunfire with the others to defend the house and the 20+ party attendees inside.

Curt was an amazing dad, uncle, brother, son, and human being. He always had a special sparkle in his eye, was quick to laugh, and even quicker to lend a hand to anyone that asked. The world lost a very special man today.
