Finally got my hands on my latest purchase! First, Mendelboatz is A list seller. Shipment was fast and the jacket as advertised. The leather is so nicely aged and creased, no breakin needed. The leather is hefty, luxurious is a softer hand than my crurent 6141hh. The grain too is amazing... I look foward to wear it. All Ill do to it for now is the usual cleaning I do for every jacket and fix a small tear in the armpit. IM happy overall.
Pictural to follow.

I'm very glad to hear! Wear it well, my friend!

I never noticed the tear in the armpit, sorry about that. I hope you'll be able to fix it easily.
Can't wait to see those pics :)

All you've to do now, Outlaw, mate, is to post some photos of you wearing it! :D

How so you went for another Schott CR? As far as I am aware, it's exactly the same jacket other than the zip-out liner, correct?

Yes I will! Don't worry about the tears Mendel I kinda expect them all the time when a jacket have that polytwill liner material. I can actually fix it myself. I love that liner, if only schott could use a thicker version of it similar to the cotton drill they use in the sleeves it would be ****** proof. The jacket is perfectly broken in man. You must have put some serious work on it. All I have to do is enjoy it now! By the way Mendel did you trained the collar (the side with the tab on it) to stand up or the jacket came like this to you? On mine that side of the collar lay down on my chest and looks real sloppy, I'm trying to find a way to have it stand up like yours.

By the way the grain on yours is amazing! I can only hope mine distress the same.

Fit pics coming up Monitor!

I was looking at either a Wolverine X1 in HH but never got any answers about that one to finally get a 141 with a fuller cut to be able to layer Under it in the cold weather months. With the dumb luck of Google pictures I was looking at 141 fit pictures and stumbled on Mendel's sales thread around chritsmas.

I liked the Idea of getting an other HH jacket and also keeping the slimmer cut of the sleeve and body of the 641 vs the baggy sleeve and boxy cut of the 141.
The price was right and I liked all the little detail like how the colar was standing, crease on the sleeves and the grain on the lower back of the jacket(lots of character on the leather) and the fixed liner and the real Inside Pocket. Also the jacket was a size up (36) wich I was curious about trying since mine had that punk rocker fit but the sleeves and body where borderline short for cold weather.
The biggest difference between the jackets beside the fur liner would be how the leather on mine is stiff. I highly suspect mine of being made with felt backed HH. Both have that hefty substancial heavy feel but mine have a mutch more rigid, crisp hand. Wich is probably why mine is so smooth and pvc like.

Pics to come

Interesting reading about the differences between the two jackets, which I expected to be exactly alike, sans the zip-out liner, Outlaw! Really great to hear you're happy with it. It's a beautiful jacket and the price would've been an absolute steal even if it was a steer jacket, let alone HH (especially now that they've once again raised the prices). I know that the horse hide Schott is using hasn't exactly got the most flattering reputation 'round these parts for some reason - the felt backing had a lot to do with it, I suppose - but I honestly didn't find it in any way inferior to Horween's HH Aero is using. It's a bit shiny and PVC-ish when new but that stuff ages like few leathers I've seen.

I was actually looking into buying it but we agreed that there's just no way I'd be able to pull off a 36.

size 36

size 34

The schott HH gets a bad rap but I like it since it is really water resistant. Horweens HH is nice too I compared both and they are top end range. Processing is the biggest difference. That black coating shure shine like a ..... but once It wears off It shows character.

^ I think the 36 looks like a perfect fit... the 34 is too short for my taste, although I know some may disagree, but the 36 really nails it. Glad it worked out for both of you and that it found a good home. Schott still knows how to make a great, classic jacket. I think most of their loss of reputation, if you want to call it that, is due to their fashion oriented jackets. (not that there's anything wrong with making those) People would buy the lighter leathers and then note that they felt thin and/or cheap. They were just different, and from what I've seen I don't think Schott has forgotten how to make a great bike jacket, just order the right one.

Edit: Oh yeah, great buckle.

Jacket looks great on you! I'm happy it has found a happy home.

I got this jacket in August 2013 when I was in NYC, and the trick to breaking it in was to just wear it all the time. Wear it all day, every day, and love wearing it.. I like getting my jacket extremely stiff, feel devastated when that first scratch comes on, and from there on out forget about it & wear the heck out of it.. Results are great, as you can see :) The collar came like that, and I just wore the jacket and didn't worry about it :)

Enjoy the jacket, my friend! Wear it well ;)
