I have three (soon to be four) riding mowers, 4 gas push mowers, and this reel mower. It was 25 bucks, all I have to do is sharpen the blades once a year and I'm good to go. The yard at my house is small, so it's all I need. I mow about 2 acres at my parents' home (the other 38 is woods), and have one with a dozer blade to maintain the paths, and I just bought a rider for at the cabin, where I mow about 1 1/2 of the 2 acres. The others are for specific projects, and detail work.

Can't mow without a beer, a smoke, and Fred follows me wherever I go lol

We had a fairly cool April (still had snow on the ground well into March) so the growing season is a bit late. Rule of thumb is don't plant ANYTHING until after Mother's Day.

I used to have a similar lawn mower but with wooden handlebars & shaft. No engine. But lately the grass is
is so high, (mostly play tennis) there's no way I can cut it unless I use a power motor. Neighbors usually come out & applaud
when I tend to the yard. :eusa_clap
Nevertheless you look very comfortable ...pipe & all .Nice doggie.

BTW: If this is the first time this year to mow the grass....how in blazes did you keep it from growing into a jungle... [huh]

Not too hot here, yet, thankfully. I don't handle the heat all that well. Still in the 60's and 70's.
Thank you about the green shirt, it's a Wrangler. I buy a lot of shirts from Tractor Supply (where this one came from) and Farm and Fleet. I do a lot of heavy work and outdoorsy hobbies. (Construction, lawn care, hunting, fishing, etc.) I think western cut clothes at least let a person have some style while toiling haha.

Looking sharp AETom!! It's so hot down here I couldn't dress like that for grass cutting. That's more like stepping out for a cold one later duds. I like the green shirt.

Today, I am wearing my Brooks Brothers necktie I got from the thrift store! :D It is made in USA and is 54.4 inches long. It seems to be padded, but I don't know.

Thank you. Indeed it is! I am now waiting for a summer cap from them.
Similar pattern in cotton with the addition of a snap. They accept custom orders, but it requires a bit of persistence and takes a while.

Oh, I'm glad it is. Since you recommended one I've been trying to find pictures of it actually being worn. I'm drawn by both the one you're wearing and the similar one with the snap bill.

Big Man, if General Patton had run a scout troup, that's what he would have looked like. Bad news for the Nazis and complicated for the Girl Guides.
