Much better fit. Looks great..!!

So A-1, when are you sending it back?

I kid. Sort of. Looks like a really good jacket though yeah, hate bringing this up but it is a bit too long for my taste. I'm staying by my previous statement that the first jacket looked the business & just how I imagine these should be. That's a helluva distance between the chest and the D-pocket. I guess Dave wanted to be as accurate as possible with the snap-on belt loop going through the D-pocket, but oftentimes I noticed that the longer styled Buco's usually had the chest pocket lowered & the D-pocket moved up a bit, so the D-pocket belt loop snap was avoided. ...exactly what he did for your first jacket, oddly enough??

Are the sleeves longer on this one as well?

Yeah, I know what you guys mean!
To me he distance seemed strange in the beginning but I like it like that now!
For me the length is so much better now. I love how it feels wearing it. The first one I felt like a belly free girly.
The sleeves are not longer, but tighter. I fastened the Zips on the photo.

I'll write some more in the next days.

To my eye, part of the problem is that the quick photos are too dark to show the top seam of the D-pocket, so it's accentuating the distance between the D-pocket zipper and the upper chest pocket zipper. In natural light, I expect that it would look more balanced.

This discussion does raise some important points:

1. What does the pattern maker do when the length is changed, in relation to keeping the jacket in balance?

2. If this is really a new pattern based on a vintage jacket that Dave worked from, is it in fact more accurate while being less pleasing to some people's eyes?

If the jacket length is extended, the pockets need to be repositioned in relation to the new length or reduced in size if it's shortened.
