First off, my apologies to a certain other forum that also has a "Dream Jacket" thread.
BUT...I don't remember a thread like this here...sooooo, I'll start.

Last night I was clicking around the internet- as I often do- to drool over leather jackets (both vintage and new), and I came across this beauty:

Now, I have absolutely no reason to purchase a jacket this warm as I live in Southern California; but... Man-o-man...It might be worth moving to the mountains so I could justify one. Well done John!

Let's see what you would go for if you could throw all practicality (and cost concerns) out the window.
Don't be shy. Dare to Dream!

Oh, and I would need one of these to go with it

@ton312

Would this be something for you?

It is also my dream jacket... but way too large unfortunately (sz. 48 US).

Too big for me as well...I'm more partial to the shawl collared variety myself...I once had a double breasted Herc that unfortunately, literally, it completely unraveled on me...

Well really I have my dream jacket. Aero zip sleeve brown FQHH Bootlegger. However, I could very easily lust after this hide in an Aero Work Coat....

..But then I'd need this to go with it...

I love my bootlegger too. I have a feeling sometime in late June I may edit my post to include a certain midnight blue HB:cool:

I have my dream jacket on the way so for the first time in my life I honestly don't know what to post here, but if I could pick another jacket, it would be this Cal Leathers shirt:

As for the ride... You're gonna laugh but this is the only car I ever wanted. 1980's Volkswagen Scirroco:

I just ordered my "dream jacket" (Eastman Air Comfort), but getting the Grumman Goose seaplane (which logically should go with the jacket) past my wife might be a bit tougher! View attachment 50028 View attachment 50029

Thor, the ELC Air Comfort is an itch I having that needs scratching. I started a thread on these back in 2007ish and once a year when I get reminded it pops into my head that I really want one. I guess I just have to do it.

Really looking forward to the pics when it arrives, it's the archetypal civvy mid-century flying jacket for me.

It might go against the grain here but I don't think there is the ultimate or "holy grail" jacket for me personally now. I have a few I love to wear - my ELC Irvin, my Aero Barnstormer and - this might raise a few eyebrows here - even my Wested Indy jacket. I love leather jackets but I've changed over the last couple of years where I used to be obsessive about having to have the perfect jacket in terms of fit, design, hide, zips, etc, and I was buying and selling things right left and centre. I think my attitude to what I wear leather jacket-wise has relaxed now, I'm less fussed about it being perfect - I know for me it'll never happen - and have ended up being happy with that and I just enjoy wearing what I have now. There's a couple I'd like down the line but my search for the perfect jacket is over, maybe I've reached leather jacket Zen if there is such a thing ;) Although I've become more obsessed with Hardy fly fishing rods and reels, so perhaps you just replace one search for perfection with another.

But in terms of needing something to go with my leather, well it would be this, but unless I get away with the next great train robbery or win the biggest Euro lottery, it's unlikely...

I figure Grail and Dream are two different things. Ones Grail jacket is still limited by criteria like "can I actually wear it?" A Dream jacket frees you up from silly things like "would it look good on me?" or "is it appropriate."
Keep 'em coming!
Vehicles too ;)
