Wesco rebuilt engineer boots, before and after

I had these for sale on FL but decided to send them to Wesco to have them rebuilt. I never could wear them before, too stiff and not very compatible with bike riding. They changed the leather on the vamp and counter to their black tie domain leather which is a lighter weight leather than the 7oz. oiled leather they were before, much easier to wear and break in. They relasted the vamp and now they have the motor patrol toe,, #705 sole and heel, much more easier to ride in and a pleasure to wear. Had brown straps put on just to give them more of a custom flare and triple stitched. Best investment I've made in a long time. Pics are from one week of wear. Just thought it would be interesting to show what these folks can do.

Very nice. I have a pair of their boots with the black tie leather and I like it a lot. Tough stuff, low maintenance, looks great
even when it takes a beating.

But it seems like you ended up with new boots- all new leather, etc. Did they charge less than a new pair?

The part of the boots that they kept were the uppers and shaft///top part of the boot. The rebuild is considerably cheaper than a new pair of boots.

Just steeling myself to order a pair of Wesco. Thinking of going with brown domain and motor patrol toe. Not sure what sort of sole to go with though...

Those are spectacular. The remake improved them 10 times over. Really nicely done. Love the contrast brown straps. Screenshot and added to the list of things I want but can't afford!

No foot tracings required.

For a new wesco customer it is a good idea. Especially when ordering across the Atlantic.

Foot tracing and measurements will help ensure the best chance of a good fit. Custom is best of course if you are happy to pay the up charge.

I have a 705 half sole on a pair of whites. And had a wesco boot with it once. I wouldn't bother with it again. It's thick and heavy with minimal traction and doesn't take too long before it is completely smooth.

Vibram minilug is a good option if you are going full sole in my opinion.
