The cause of this problem is due to the mismanagement of the company by the Marenco and Gallo family. They basicaly took all of the money out of the company and left them with nothing. The new director of the company Marco Moccia decided to change everything and has hurt many people in the process of doing so. I do not feel bad for the new owners as they will probably destroy what is left of the company. My hope is that the courts will allow a new owner to come in a try to fix this big mess.

Inherited this hat from my Grandfather and unfortunately it does not fit my oval head. Would be interested in any advice or information from the Brotherhood regarding vintage, value or whatever. Please help me understand: This hat seems pretty large, as it fits my 7 3/8 oval head front to back, with lots of room on the sides. But the tag says 6 1/2 which would typically be a smaller hat. how do I accurately size this hat?
The 6 1/2 is the French size, which corresponds to a UK 7 3/8 (or US 7 1/2 or EU 60)

I picked up a very nice Borsalino for my daughter earlier this year and it came with the same box you have pictured here. It was advertised as a 1950's hat. I won it on the 'bay for less than a Benjamin. The smaller sizes seem to be easier to pick up and for less $$.

It 's back, sadly, topical these days of sea in tempest for the current Borsalino
This is unfortunate,imo.
This did not happen overnight. Years of mismanagement and trying to be another big italian brand like Gucci and Prada is what started the problems. The current CEO of the company hurt a lot of people in the past year and a half by doing things his way. Lets hope that a new owner will change things for the better.
