Hello, people!

I need your advice on the shoes that I am about to pull a trigger.

I currently have Lewis leather MK2, Highwayman, Aero Caferacer and langlitz flight jacket.

Do you think the Alden indy low-cut version would match the jackets that I own?

I've always thought black leather jackets should be worn with black shoes or boots.

But considering Indy Jones wore brown indy boots with black(or seal?) leather jacket, I guess brown shoes would do fine?

Thanks for your advice in advance!

This comes up a bit here. It really doesn't matter what you mix. I personally wear back and brown together a lot; I think when you try too hard to match things, it can look prissy. Of course there are a lot here who would match their jacket with their shoes AND their belt. If that floats your boat, why not?

Indy wears a mid brown jacket with light brown boots.

True. What do you think of matching Highwayman + black dress shoes (such as Allen Edmonds Park Avenue or Strand)?

Why didn't you post some photos of the LL!? The MK2 is my most favorite jacket in the world!

As for the shoes and boots, I'm done with that stuff. Sneakers or motorcycle sneakers for me from now on. But SB is right. Matching stuff can make you look silly. Worse than wearing everything unmatched.

Well, I bought my MK2 two months ago in London and now I'm staying in South Korea which is in hot summer season.
I simply can't wear'em right now.
So, no pics taken yet.

LL MK2 is absolutely gorgeous. The lambskin is substantially thick and the grain looks amazing.
I'll definitely post some pictures later when autumn comes.

Yeah, as for the shoes, I guess I shouldn't overthink it.

Don't forget you're going for the look of the guys who couldn't care less what they wore, as long as it served the purpose on the road (and in the pub). At the time, being dressed in a black leather jacket, a pair of jeans and leather boots wasn't exactly considered all too appropriate and wouldn't get you very far in life. And imo, that's the kind of attitude you gotta give off if that's the stuff you chose to wear.

Matching this kind of clothes can literally be worse than wearing everything mismatched. If it looks like cosplay, try again.

And also, Indy; I doubt he's ever given his clothes any thought. Whether or not the shade his boots matched his jacket was the last thing on his mind. He's wearing a (slightly oversized) leather jacket because it's tough and a good protection, and boots that he finds most comfortable to wear.

Hey get a pair of Black Indy Boots from Alden. Alden of Carmel has them in Steer and Cordovan Leather (black). Also great folks to work with.

The Park Avenue is one of Allen Edmonds most formal shoes (and a common selection for Presidential Inaugurations) and very dressy - usually worn with suits. I personally feel they are even too formal for use with sport coats. The Strand, given it's brogueing, is a bit more casual but I think it is still too dressy to wear with a Highwayman

The Highwayman s modeled after a biker jacket and, in my eyes, very casual. I usually wear black or cordovan color boots or "heavy" casual shoes with my black model.

Whoa, just a minute. Are you telling me there are colors other than black and shades of grey? I just almost fell out of my chair (black chair, grey coveralls with black writing, black boots, grey floor).

Pair of seal brown Blundstones. If you wear jacket, belt and footwear in the same colour it looks very contrived.

Right. The problem that I have is that I kinda want to wear my Highwayman with every clothes I own.

I even wore Highwayman on top of dress shirts and tie and it was a bit odd as you pointed out.

I guess this is a real good excuse for me to get another formal leather jacket like 'A2' or 'deluxe Half Belt'.

Thanks for your advice on Allen Edmonds. I thought it would go well with my dress attire + Highwayman combination. Guess not. =(
