How to Wear White Bucks?

Aside from the usual seersucker suit, how does one wear white (or other light tone) buckskin shoes? I don't see them worn much, but I've always kind of admired them for informal summer wear. Any outfit ideas?

Bucks are a pretty informal and versatile shoe, but are traditionally considered a summer / warm weather item. Other than seersucker, they go well with linen suits too. In the 1950s, it was very common for young men to wear white bucks with jeans. They also go well with warm-colored gabardine slacks, chinos and linen summer slacks.

The "White Bucks" Trickers were picked up in England Summer of 2012. The others are vintage Allen Edmonds. I have a white suede pair of Alden Derby style (I forget the model name) I should get a pic of.

You might try Johnson Shoes. Colin has an extensive stock of vintage shoes, of which, he has a large selection of Bucks. Send him, or his wife Sarah, an email asking about US sizes, there's a slight variation between US & UK sizes, if you know your size in metric there's less chance of a mistake. Also ask how much shipping charges are.

Back in the heyday of Ivy, white bucks were worn with grey flannels (see pic). The look was very popular with college kids and the expectation was the bucks would be scuffed up and "worn" a bit. I love the look, but it is a bit "out there" today, so I'd only do it if you are willing to stand out a little.

I'd heed to that theorem, it would be too much white. I never cared for white 3-pieces, always saw them as too flashy to begin with.

I think white buck would look pretty cool with something like a pair of the SJC chinos (particularly the mid-navy ones), and a nice shirt, long or short sleeve - the SJC polos, again, would be cool for this. Top off with a panama or linen cap. Superb, easy-wearing, Summer casual outfit.

TL/DR: I'd wear white bucks with pretty much anything with which I'd wear saddle shoes.

I've never tried it myself, but I don"t see why it wouldn"t work. Dillinger was wearing a boater with shirtsleeves when he was shot.
