I will not supply anyone's personal info on this forum. If you're determined to get the product you paid for as I was then, do some digging on Facebook and other social media outlets and you will find it easy. If I can find it so can you.

I don’t do Facebook or other social media and that does not constitute me not digging. Asking you for starters does. A plain yes or no will do. I also did not expect you to post such information on this forum. If you were willing to share we could easily find a more suitable way to do this. Thanks for your reply. It was easy to find and communicate with SD via his website before I placed and paid for my order. That should’ve remained the same afterwards. It kind of begs the question right? Why would “ digging” be necessary??

You are probably aware that Bendingoak is John Penman. He pretty well explains things above.Steve Delk and John are friends.John has taken over a single segment of AB hat business, the Legacy hat model.John obviously owns his own business.
Marc Kitter and I believe a partner are in Europe and operate as Adventurebilt Deluxe.
I’ve been made aware thanks. However none of the above mentioned friends/partners could provide me with correct contact details for SD. Marc Kitter and SD are not reachable via the information supplied on the most recent AB website. John Penman maintains the website but does not update the contact info (except his own) Do call the numbers listed and see who answers. (No need for you because you got what you paid for - I hope.

Any further remarks in this vein should be reserved for PMs.
Sir, I would be glad to go that route if you could kindly direct me to Steve Delk’s PM.
All I want is my hat and I have tried many other venues with no success. How else do one bring such practices to other hat enthusiasts attention? Does anyone on this vein approve of it?It is just plain wrong and disrespectful. Thanks.

Why is Adventurebilt website still operational when information on it is false and reportedly still open for “business” (read - will happily receive your money) Does no one here see anything wrong with that and protect others from the pitfall. The administrator of AB website is a “respected” member of this forum and are aware of of this situation and does not react in any corrective, protective and respectable manner. Where are the consequences to practices like this? Every one here should be aware since it is an insult to a passion we all share.

Everyone here is aware. See, for example, the start date of this thread.

The administrators of the lounge aren't the hat police, and have no responsibility to act in a "corrective" or "protective" manner.

Where are the consequences? Eh, life's not fair. And I say this as somebody who threw money into the AB black hole when I probably should have known better.

Everything you say (rant?) is true. BUT, there comes a time where you just have to decide you've been had, and move on. Just hold onto your ankles, knees straight. If this is the greatest calamity in your life, be thankful, my friend.

Moreover, WHY on earth would you continue to pursue something that has left such a bad taste? Find a new superhero to be. Or, better yet, your own style, your own hat. Move along, now, please and thanks!!

Let me jump in here again. I have no new contact info to add to Steve’s web site. His email account is still active but his cancer is back so he has good and bad days. I have not talked with him in a few months. I do not have a special line to him. What ever contact info I have, it goes onto his site. I maintain the website so there is at aleast some sort of information up for people to have access to. I’m sorry the phone number isn’t working but I have not gotten a new number from steve. When I do I will put it upon the site.

Just for clarity I am not taking over Steve’s business. Steve is AB period. I am offering a select few hats like the Indy 4 hats and Steve’s Raiders hat under the AB legacy collection of hats ( a few Indy style hats only). That is how the AB name will stay alive.

Thanks for your input Bendingoak. You maintain the website [meaning open for business] and are aware that the contact info is not current and incorrect at best. It begs the question. Emails go unanswered. It is speculated on this thread that SD is retiring or has retired in Dec ‘17. No clarification or notice on the AB website !? Yet the unfortunate customer can still take the bait. Who updates news regarding SD’s health status and claim there is no contact with SD?? I see your contact information on the AB site too, not as a link for redirection. What is the purpose? What are you doing as administrator, to protect another AB victim when you are well aware that payments are taken but no deliveries will be made? Clarification would be appreciated.

I thought this thread has ended too. I would nevertheless contribute and reply to any new postings. I’m not of the give up and run kind. Whomever does that is welcome to it. Ain’t a dead horse yet. If Bendingoak whom is a respected member here contributes he might as well answer some questions regarding his position on a defunct AB website that can still trick/scam others. Until that has come to an end the horse is well and alive. I can understand that some of you have no interest in this matter but I still do. Maybe just avoid this thread in the future and continue participating in threads that interest you. Thanks to democracy right!!!

I guess I have to agree. He (Bend. O) really seems like an opportunistic lawyer handing out cards at a funeral.

I agree on that. Well except for the fact that if anything is to be handed out at this funeral, it won’t be cards. Out of respect to other forum readers I’ll keep the rest of this thought to myself.
I would just like an answer on the few questions I had (above) and rest my case.

I find some of these claims outrageous.

Just because someone offers to help someone else out in some small way such as website maintenance does not make him responsible or a spokesperson for that party.

It is unfortunate that Meteor has had an unsatisfactory experience with AB, but the only person that is even remotely responsible for correcting this is someone at AB, and that's it.

I agree, it's unfortunate for Meteorite.

If website maintenance was the only thing happening, I also agree on that point, Scotty; but it isn't. Opportunistic "flag-waving" and order-taking is the goal here. That seems clear to me.
