Agreed with what Fading Fast said, this photo is a prime example of quality 1940's tailoring. Too many 40's examples I see on the internet depict suits that are too flat, blocky, don't flatter the wearer's body... this gentleman's suit is timeless and fits him well.

I'm glad this thread exists, so I can demonstrate to people that golden era tailoring was no joke.

I'd agree with you, if the average guy knew how to recognise good tailoring.

In this era where media saturate our minds with an ideal of minimal, skin-tight and form fitting clothes, people are absolutely clueless about the details that convey good tailoring or bad tailoring.

For example, they would choose a skinny suit with a gigantic collar gap instead of that suit.
