Thank you, Eric. You are always so gracious and on point. Most of my shoes, hats, and clothing are contemporary purchases. I tend to have a classic sense of style: however, I can step outside of the traditional style box periodically. The reason I love this forum is that I have an opportunity to be exposed to and interact with people who truly enjoy sharing there passion for the sartorial art. Good day folks. I would like to share the excitement of a new to me) shoe morning.
Introducing my new Johnsonian mesh/leather shoes.
This vintage pair of 1940's shoes is in truly gently worn condition. The black/white-silverish mesh is pristine and in its own right flashy. When I hold the shoe and move it back and forth the white/silver catches your eye. I am very curious to wear it in the evening and see what occurs. The leather on the upper is also pristine. Time will tell if the original heels will last. I see some chipping after my morning errands.
Arriving in the morning gave me an opportunity to condition the leather, soles and interior with Cadillac Conditioner. I applied liberally until no more could be absorbed. After sitting for a while I wiped the excess off, brushed hard the uppers and stitching to remove any detritus and then went to work applying Alden black shoe creme. It was very detailed work to apply the shoe creme. After the polish was dry I polished with a cotton cloth and then brushed vigorously. Again time to dry. Then went to work with the Saphir Gloss Polish. A dab of water on a clean cotton cloth and applying small amounts (circular patterns) to the toe area and heel. Polish with microfiber and then brush. I only did two applications of the gloss. The edge dressing I have comes with a big swab on the end of the dabber. I used a plastic guide to make sure that no excess got on the shoe. I have been tempted to pick-up some very small paint brushes. Today has convinced me.
To my eye these more casual shoes would look out of place with a really high gloss shine. Gloss works for me.

No information on the maker, but those are some fine sandals. Never heard of wooden heels, sounds rather bizarre. Maybe these will hold up better than rubber heels? Wear these with pride, Michael.
Eric, I've been waiting for you to share more vintage shoes! These are a cut above the rest! Pretty versatile colors too, I've really warmed up to non-white spectators. I'd see how long you can last with the original heels. My 1940's specs's heels have endured a lot thus far, and I will get them replaced when I absolutely need to.
