A visit to leather jacket heaven in Thessaloniki - Thedi Leathers!

This time I thought I should share my experience here

I will try to make this fun to read, but it's not something I am used to do normally so bear with me if it feels too clunky. So let's first start with the entrance:

If this doesn't whet your appetite, I certainly don't know what will do the job
The smell of leather as you enter is intoxicating, and the sheer variety of styles, colours, leathers on display is really impressive. This is clearly a shop in constant flux, as new styles are born and come to get displayed here on a regular basis. One reason I really like Thedi Leathers is the sheer creativity that they display and that is clearly felt as soon you enter the shop.

I took pictures of several jackets I really liked (it would have taken way too long to take a pic of every single model available in the shop).

I really like the mix of denim and leather on this one. Have been eyeing it for a while

This is some kind of vintage military canvas, looks even better when you have it at hand. Should really get one...

Burgundy horsehide, quite stiff, I am speccing a jacket out of this leather

Now this is definitely a future order! These padded shoulders are still making me drool! And the jacket overall really keeps my eyes... Just need to think which colour & leather combination

That would work really well for winter riding

Thedi Leathers is now offering jackets in deerskin

Another jacket I really liked in deerskin, it's obviously too tight for me (really need to lose more weight). Another one to keep in mind
Also have to remember that a yellow t-shirt is maybe not the best choice to try on leather jackets

Great photos RD! I really like Thedi's creativity. So far, I have successfully convinced myself that I do not "need" the TB/Thedi shawl collar in dark brown (I have to remind myself almost daily).

Does Thedi have a dark brown canvas (not medium/russet, but dark brown)?

That padded CR is just insane...I mean zoom in and look at how the padding is done. MY GOD....wow. Just shows yet again and without a doubt Thedi really has no equal. Nobody is doing what he is and there is simply no mistaking a Thedi jacket.

Didn't see a dark brown canvas, but I suspect Theodoros could source it. Why not ask them? A Thedi is different enough to be a "need" to expand your collection of course!

That's very good strategy for your bank account. Thedi's jackets are addictive.

The olive canvas / leather cross zip is brilliant! Genuinely brilliant. Thedi is even kind of a wonderman with canvas as well as leather. I'd love to see something entirely in canvas - a Barbour International style belted jacket would be les nuts.

So to continue from where the first post ended, I obviously went there with my #MTC-127915 in Tan Buffalo. Alexandra was quick to check it out as she had been the one to ship it. And later when Theodoros arrived at the shop, he also immediately went to examine it, checking the hide, looking to see how everything had been holding up and then said "you've been wearing it often". He really loved how the leather has darkened, I guess all these days wearing it while riding in the heat wave in London have really paid off. The sun has done a good job
He loves veg tanned leather because it really tells the story of a jacket, my jacket now needs to experience winter and the rain. That will be the next chapter!

I guess the best thing you can do for such a passionate craftsman is show him that you are using what he made... This is something we should all remember (not trying to be preachy, but this is something I really felt this time). And as he says, his jackets show their story

We discussed future jackets as well
So to keep it short, we are finalising the specs for two very unique jackets, one will be a cafe racer type, the other a grizzly! I will not say more for now as they are not yet fully specced. Also this one in green will be coming soon

I ordered it about a year ago, and kept hesitating on size (my weight has fluctuated quite a bit), and then hesitated on the leathers & colours. But ironically (or maybe not so much), I have gone full circle to a dark green buffalo. So yeah, this one is finally coming and the delays were all due to my indecision! I will most likely enjoy it the more because of this story

I also discussed extensively leather types with Theodoros, and it is very clear that he is constantly hunting for new material. I asked him about Badalassi leather and it turns out that he has recently placed the order after meeting with the owner. So @dudewuttheheck , you have a good reason to start thinking about your first Thedi

Also, in January, he is releasing the new collection, waiting to see how that comes out!

All in all Theodoros and Alexandra are fantastic hosts and really took very good care of me!
