Just saw this update on the HBO movie "Deadwood". Not sure if it is the latest info or not. Still scheduled release on HBO for 2019.

Thanks, HJ. This got me to thinking; which characters or actors will I miss most. Actors is easy for me. Powers Booth, for me, will be sorely missed.. The character will be Wild Bill, I guess. The show could have expounded on him a bit, I think.

Funny you should mention that about Hickok. I have the DVD box set with extras & interviews. One of the things David Milch said was that if he had it to do over again he would write episodes with Hickok (Carridine) in flashback after he had to be killed off.

Found a shorter version of the Milch interview I mentioned:

And a bit OT but you might enjoy this video on the attempted forensic identification of the remains of a Deadwood pioneer unearthed in 2012 in the area of the original cemetery.

Thank you. Have it marked to watch later. Getting my Sunday chores out of the way to watch the race and prepare a big pot of spaghetti sauce for tonight.

There have been a couple of "versions" of Cole Younger.

Maybe this pic requires a bit of an explanation:

Cole Younger & Frank James began the tour of their Wild West show, "The Great Cole Younger & Frank James Historical Wild West & Congress of Rough Riders of the World" on May 4th, 1903. Consisting of 30 rail cars it left Chicago for their opening performance in Galesburg, IL. Frank performed in several skits & rode in the Grand Finale. Due to conditions of Cole Younger's pardon from MN he was not allowed to perform. Cole would often sit among the audience & tell stories.

Frank James died Feb 18, 1915, age 72.
Cole Younger died March 21, 1916, age 72.

Remarkable

Cole still had 17 lead minie balls in his body when he died. Served 25 yrs in prison, a couple on parole before being pardoned.

PS: Perry, it all probably would have never happened if the Younger's father had not been killed by federal troops on his way home after posting a $5,000 cash "peace bond". The exact spot of his murder on a cobblestone road known then as the Westport - Harrisonville Road, is today in the middle of a city park; the cobblestone is still there.
