Suggestions for a mouton collar?

I sent my vintage Lawrence Perfecto-style jacket to Johnson Leathers for some work. I’m thinking about having a new snap-on mouton collar made.

Any suggestions on the mouton color? What would make for maximum coolness?

What a cool jacket and a cool idea to go with it!
I really like the looks of brown mouton contrasting with a black MC jacket.
Here is my Cal Leathers LAPD (courtesy of ksozay, thanks again man!) that I had a mouton collar made for by my tailor.

I agree. With a black jacket, I would go brown over black but that gray also is amazing. The brown collar below is the original so it looks a bit scruffier than El Marro's awesome jacket that he should consider selling to me.

In black, which is still great. I just prefer the contrast.

I just realized I need more photos of my jackets with the mouton collar attached. I have a Vanson, Lost Worlds and a few other Cals that need to be photographed.

Thinking a bit, that gray is not as common and would be cool. Do one in gray and one in brown.

These are great ideas, guys. Pics of your own collars, if available, will help me decide on a color. The budget calls for just one mouton collar right now.

I should thank @ton312 for planting the seed for pursuing a mouton collar. If I recall correctly, he has a jacket with a silver/gray collar?

Silver/gray might look nice adjacent to the nickel epaulette studs, too.

I think I'm leaning toward a contrasting color. It's a 1950s jacket, so I don't think I want a solid black because it might look too "new" attached to a vintage piece.

A golden/tan is interesting, but I associate that color with my vintage G-1, which has a nicely faded honey brown collar.

Natural mouton will fade with exposure to light, correct? If that's true, what color would a silver/gray collar fade to over time? Not sure what the fade rate would be, likely many years, but I want to consider long-term use.

No way J!
You’ve got way more Cal Leather jackets than I do and I get jealous every time you pick up a new one.

Silver grey sounds like a cool choice, but I've not seen any pictures of it.

That gray is cool ... and stands out from the standard black/brown/tan.

Two thoughts on gray -- how will that color age with exposure? And I'm gaining more gray hair seemingly every day. Will a gray collar emphasize that and make me look old? In other words, someone trying too hard by wearing a Perfecto-style jacket.

Sleep on it. Don't you want some sort of custom that needs to be funded by the sale of currently owned jackets?!?
That is so devious brother, of course I do! As hard as it is to find vintage Cals in the larger sizes though, I’m going to hold onto the one I got.

How about a blue mouton collar? Versace was selling this for $8,795!
In all seriousness, dark blue mouton would look pretty cool on a black MC jacket!
The dark blue mouton collar on a BR B-15C is a prime example of how good it looks.
