Keep in mind that this Highwayman was made 18 years ago and they were true to size. Some say the ones made now are oversized ( although Aero seems to deny it ) and dropping down in size is the way to go for some.

The opposite happened to me, I bought it in 40 size, and it turned out to be small.

Hey, can I get an accurate measurement of this jacket? just wondering how different it is from the size 40 that make today))

My 2 cents: as Thurston Bros seems to recommend, the present day Highwayman fit 2 sizes bigger. I’m a 38 in most brands and bought a 34. Still room for a sweater. The premier highwayman is a different pattern altogether.

Yeah, for the past 10 years all the Highwayman jackets I've seen in my normal size - 42 - have a chest size that corresponds to a roomy 46. I have no doubt they have become oversized. Which I don't really understand. Aeros sizes vary a lot because they also have a 42 in other jackets that fits like a 38.

Yes, I was looking at a Highwayman on the sales page recently, a size 40 with the same chest as my 42??? I decided to leave it.

I purchased an Highwayman off of the sale page last year in size 34. P2P laid flat is about 22”.... now I get it’s supposed to be a boxy cut jacket but I don’t think it should be labelled as a 34 either. Just go by the actual measurements with Aero I think it’s the safest thing.

The problem for me comes when ordering a new jacket as with my last order they weren’t able to provide me with stock size measurements. You would expect they’d keep a record of what a size xx of model yy measures . Apparently not. I figured out what size to get based on another Aero I’ve got.

My size 38 HWM has a PTP of 23" (which means it runs two sizes large). I am a true 40" chest and going down 1 size, it is a boxy fit as the style is supposed to be. Going down two sizes is going to be a medium-snug fit depending on what you are wearing with it. If it's t-shirt/shirt most of the time, I'd go down two sizes. Personally, I like to layer and I'm happy I went down only one size. It's boxy with just a t-shirt but it's not getting uncomfortably "sweater getting stuck in armpits"-snug when I wear a wool sweater with it.

Idk about that one.. if you can return it, I would seriously consider it. Can you wear it and get away with it? Sure thing. But you could do so much better... the question I ask myself with every jacket I try on, is "would I grab for this if it was laying next to one of my top 3". I have seen you posting here pictures of way more than three jackets that fit better than this.

Today, wearing a cheapo Cockpit tanker jacket (unlined). Kind of pissed; it looked like rain earlier today but has turned up clear. Would have worn something else lol. Clear days are becoming a novel commodity here in SoCal!

This one was bought used, although it is basically brand new.. i like the fit across the shoulders and chest.. the sleeves look longer in the pictures than they feel.. I left the cuff snaps undone in the pics which when done bring the length up a bit.
Ive been wearing it the last few days since receiving it, Ill give it some time before deciding what to do., I'll keep my eyes out for a 46 tho.
