Today wearing my Buzz Navy A-2 deck jacket; I’ve added my Navy Surface Warfare Specialist patch (aviators have their wings, submariners have their “dolphins”, and the surface Navy have their own specific warfare qualification insignia).

Didn't really wear today but wanted to take advantage of the sun shining as permacloud returns tomorrow:

The Bates pull is the only ID I can find, but that's definitely not conclusive evidence. I don't know enough to say for sure one way or the other. Regardless, another heavy, but supple and easy wearing 5+ lb hide.

I have some more detail photos but not sure where to post. If it is a Bates there doesn't appear to be a dedicated thread for the brand.

Yes new and custom through Thurston Bros. as I own a few Aero jackets already in different styles thought I would get a new jacket using their fit process (using my existing jackets to get the right fit), super happy with the fit and ordering process, Carrie makes it so easy.

1.Vicenza Horsehide, Blackened Brown

2.All Brass Hardware, Talon main Zipper, Diamond Waldes pull on chest pocket

3.Lanark cotton tartan lining with black cotton sateen in sleeves

4.Side straps up to half belt location (like on 1930s Half Belt)

5.Leather-lined button cuffs (replace corduroy with leather)

6.1930s Half Belt cuff, not standard Original Hercules cuff

7.Replace corduroy under collar with leather

8.Left side vertical interior pocket with no closure

9.Left side horizontal chest pocket.

10.Olive Drab stitching

11.Rock’n’Roll label; new Thurston label in lower front bottom hem
