I immediately thought you would go for this hat when I saw it posted!!!;) I wanted to go for it myself in the worst way, as it is actually my size and I would love an Optimo, but this covid thing has hurt my business quite significantly so...no hats for a while.....(but really I do have enough if I am honest:rolleyes:).
But that hat body sure was nice!!!! It should make a good "shrink" conversion and perhaps you can get a little more brim in the possess. Anyway, nice get.
Thank you, Mark! I am feeling a bit stingy myself, but my 2000 dollar Optimo Montecristi only has 400 WPI, and this one has 676, so I just had to get it.
Ignacio will conform it to my head for another 40 bucks, so Ibwill be all set for under 300 dollars.

I already have 4 or 5 hat stretchers, but the price was too good to pass up.

Anyone on here win this? I was watching and then got sidetracked and missed the end. Not something I needed to buy with an unknown size and unknown shipping cost. Still ... a very cool hat. If I'm interpreting the Young Bros. dating posts here on FL it would be in the 1885 - 1920 range. Not sure if it's a ladies hat. Young Bros. did start selling ladies hats starting around 1920 from what I can determine.

That is certainly one of the most interesting hats I've seen in a while. A straw and top hat dualist? Who would have thought it? makes me think it's a ladies hat, but there is a name tag inside the hat that says "Dean". No matter what it is though, I think it's very cool.

Placed an order 3 weeks back at Hat Maker's Emporium out of Australia for some leather sweats and felts. He shipped it yesterday and due to the virus Express wasn't available so he sent it via row boat.....ETA 8-12 WEEKS.

He never thought to contact me first just went ahead and shipped it. Very disappointed.

I completely misread that as he shipped it via "virus express." Even though it's not what you said, what a fitting term for the shipping process these days. Understandably so in a lot of cases. It would have been nice if you would of been notified of the shipping situation. I hope they come earlier than expected.

No, the virus seemed to get here pretty quick!

I think that is a woman's hat from just after the turn of the last century.
