When I ordered my jacket thru Thurston Bros, it was my understanding that Aero might be very reluctant to add the Highwayman mods to a Sheene design. From what I've heard, Aero has a limit as to what they'll accept in modifications to their standard patterns, and this just might be pushing their comfort zone. All I wanted was the streamline modern fit of a Sheene, with some of the classic Highwayman details (but without the boxiness.)What exactly surprise you? Actually Holly never said "we won't do that" so it was quite easy to get all this mods done. I just was unsure how it would look like at the end as I have never ordered such a jacket
At the moment I am just happy with the jacket as it is and am looking for every opportunity to wear it - my wife looked a bit worried yesterday when I had the jacket on inside our flat
Thankfully it all worked out. And I think these two jackets turned out very successfully. Hopefully, we'll see more in this vein.

First thanks to everyone in this thread. Great minds think alike. Combining Sheene and Highwayman.
This is my short review of another one in year 2024. This jacket is stock size 42 Sheene, with Highwayman (50s) details, CXL FQHH, quilted lining.
Some silly fit pics. This design has the square shoulder look and the mobility is as good as it can get for this type of design imo, and is good enough for daily routine. Softer leathers definitely will drape even better.

So to address the elephant in the room, is there a neck hang issue. Well, imo there isn't on my jacket. There is some discomfort on the regular cafe racer for me. If that is the model A, then this is the model B Oxford. And I do prefer the later.
Another short note on the "/ \" creases. I believe these are actually just from super thick leather seams with tight stitch tension if you can see where they origin from and not actual pattern issue. It felt fine once I put it on and leather will flat out or go to where it needs to go to compensate the fit, even this super rigid FQHH.
One more note is that the Highwayman sleeves are chunkier than the tapered zipped sleeve on the CR, but it clears watches and works well for daily wear imo. If slim tight fit is desired, then the zipped sleeves will do the job better.

This pattern ought to outright replace Aero's (IMO) woefully dated HWM. This is how the body of the jacket should fit. I love this jacket. It's very similar to what I tried to do with my mdnight blue 50's HB but the sheenewayman does it better, more organically. Congrats, this jacket is kick ass!
Are you sure it's a Cafe Racer pattern? Maybe they just used the Premier Highwayman pattern? Or another one that is easier to adapt to the Highwayman details? Whatever, it looks good.

Thank you and I’m with you, I also don’t think it’s CR based. The neck hole shape looks like Seven. It’s definitely an improvement over the CR I’ve got.
It’s actually a flattering “Y“ shaped with a flare like the half belts. I think that might be why I wasn’t given the green light for the HWYMan label.
It’s still got an aggressive taper though, down to 20” across where the half belt cinch usually goes, and flares 1/2” to clear the belt at the hem. The sharp tapering is similar to the existing CR.
