Best vtg CR money can buy.

It really is nice. It and the HD Sportster are the sleepers of the vintage CR world huh? Probably throw Kehoe in there too.

I do wish it had a larger main zip though. Little baby #5. Based on the zip and leather, I’m guessing a late 60s jacket, at the earliest. I’m not sure Cal made this jacket in the leather they used on even earlier LAPDs, but if they did that would be cool too. This leather is beautiful and will grain like crazy, it’s just not thick/dense like I prefer for a riding jacket.

As others have already said ... I think the length of the jacket is good, but it is too wide for my taste. But it's not that it looks bad now. If you feel good, perfect. Otherwise I would have waist and hip tapered.

I took some measurements to compare with jackets I own and what I'd sent them:

Chest:
Desired: 21"
Received: 22"
(In hindsight, I think a 20 or 20.5" might be better - in Texas, I never need more than a tshirt under a jacket)

Waist:
Ask: 19"
Received: 22" uncinched
(19 uncinched would be perfect)

So, ideally, I think I need at least an inch off the chest and three off the waist/opening. I'm sure they fit me to their size 38 based on the shoulders, which are perfect, but the cut of this jacket is just really big!

Sorry for the low quality. Taken by a co-worker and didn’t have it in me to say do better haha. And if you ask mask is blurred to avoid any comments about what it says.

In any case this is an awesome 90s Vanson. The really great comp. weight that was a monster to break it but when it does it’s like butter. Perfect for fall days because it looks good with just a tee under it, but not TFL level perfection. But it does look perfect with a hoodie under it.
Lastly bonus points for any nerds out there that know what the symbol on my hoodie means.

Thanks. If I were to size down the shoulders would be too small. Boots are Wesco Boss's (brown domain, double sole and extra heel).

Shoulder width is over rated, IMO it is the least important measurement on a jacket.
I have jackets with shoulders ranging from 18.5" all they way up to 21" and they all fit well.
It's a different look, but not a comfort thing.

IMO that jacket looks like it is one or two sizes too large, the fact that you have to cinch it so much is not right.
Even with the side panels out of the equation the front panels are just too wide.
The arms are also pretty wide on you.
Is there a way you can send it back for remake?

IDIC, of course. And I cannot overstate how much you're my favorite person on TFL rn for wearing this shirt! :D \\//,

And yep, this is the real Vanson!

Jeez this is depressing, but I'm starting to think you are right. Sliming the torso won't help with the sleeves. I think they should have sized me down one. I don't understand why they are so secretive about their sizing when this sort of thing could happen. That said, when I look at the size chart (https://standardandstrange.com/products/black-deerskin-double-riders-jacket) that SxS used for this jacket, that chest looks to be 3" less than mine. Is it possible they were intending to make me a size 38 and did a 40 by mistake? I emailed them yesterday to see what can be done and am still waiting on a response.
