My two pairs of Bravestar in 21.5oz. The first are 4 or 5 years old, a few soaks. The second are 4 months and just had their first soak.
I’ve 7 pairs of Bravestar and don’t have any incentive to look anywhere else. Great value for raw denim.
The heavyweights are my fav. I also have their double black in 21.5oz.

I’m about to order a pair of Bravestar 21oz but want to make sure about the sizing.
I’m normally a size 32 but looks like they run with vanity sizing and the size 30 or 31 have my numbers more closely.
Do you take same size in Brave star than other brands or size down? cheers.

In Levi’s or others pants I’m typically a 34. With Bravestar I go 33. When they arrive they are stiff as hell, and the buttons are damn near impossible to do up, however with time loosen up, and the waist stretches and gives. The 33 ends up fitting me perfectly. I get the 21.5 in true straight. I have other pairs of 33’s in their narrower cuts and they are tighter across the hips however.

Maybe i mentioned before in this thread, i once downsized 2 on unsanforized 21oz, after washing I wanted to wear it wet to dry to mould it , the wet pants literally couldnt pass my hip bone but i forced it through then I sat down and buttoned it up with the help of the screwdriver tool on my SAK. It all buttoned painful ball busting for 2 3 weeks, and now 2 years later it fits great, slim on the leg and top block and stay slim after long wear without washes, probably cant stretch any bigger.

I have the Bravestar 21oz. Be ready for a battle. lol. They are crazy stiff in the beginning. I had to take a screwdriver and work with the button holes just to make them function. After a few wears they loosen up a bit.

I wear a 38 in Levi's relaxed fit (550?). They were a little on the loose side, and would sag without a belt. I ordered a 35 in the Bravestars and they fit perfectly. A little tight at the start, but quickly begin to loosen to a perfect fit.

What's your wash routine on these?
It is sanforized, so i washed once after wearing it about a month to get excess dye out, and ever since I just vacuum clean them whenever I vacuum clean the house. Spray antibacterial on the inside, I hate to wash it since it has quilted padded leg and double layer on the seat, take very long to dry, i wear them to dry the 1st time, took many hours in wet pants through it, much longer and felt worse than my other raws worn wet to dry.

Today my unsanforized 21oz
Brand is WWco (indonesian), fabrics is from Collect, high tension right hand twill, short cotton (a bit hairy)
that was bought 2 sizes down... 1st raw... mistake, i looked at the chart the measurement fits just right, and everyone say jeans will sag out you better buy tight, so i bought a size down from my ideal measurement which was already a size down from my usual pants size, fit snug like cardboard the 1st day, the next day I presoaked it and the pants can not pass my hip bone, i forced it through, use tools to button up, felt horrible and painful on the hip and groin for about a month but i soldier on through it, first raw pants straight up to heavy weight dunno what to expect thought this was all part of the game, and what I learned these pants is just woven cotton, it is conquerable in the end, it just stretch out and fit... fit super nicely too no bagging out, 2 yrs washed 3x the only downside that cant stretch out is front pockets, they are useless when you wear jeans too small

Interesting. I'm sure you have thought of this, but perhaps you could find your diamonds faster if you soak the jeans in hot water or cold water once a week, or even once a month maybe wear for one hour when they have dried to damp to set the creases. Regular washing would probably shrink them too much, but soaking could work. I have been experimenting with denim for the last year or so, I also am impatient with drying, but I found that if I run the the ventilation in my bathroom while the jeans are drying and put a fan in there too they dry much faster, can set it before going to sleep and wake up to dry jeans. I am sure the indonesian climate makes air drying more complicated, but i am curious if you have anti-humidity measures in the bathroom (this is common in the US).
I have to tell you, I believe these double knee jeans were a custom job you designed, you did a fantastic job! very well cut, and the rivet placement is great. The perfect balance of straight and slim, this is not easy! Not as big of a fan of the WWco pair- I think you did a much better job balancing the proportions, especially in the hips vs knee ratio. Maybe a bigger size would be different, though I think you just may have a better vision- I think style is generally moving in the direction of the pair you specified.
I have made one million raw denim mistakes, generally it all revolves around cut. Never specified my own pair because I grew to love branded hardware and found it difficult to find a maker who both had access to "harmonious" hardware and good fabrics. I'm a total amateur, so I'm not sure, but this was my thinking. I would love to see the hardware on the pairs you've posted.

Yeah washing obviously would fade it more, although after the first wash the water pretty much clear, not bleeding more indigo, but def will bring out the diamond and creases clearer. Yes i have exhaust on my bathroom, in rainy season like now i hang my laundry there. Otherwise it is too humid to dry. Since I dont use dryer.

Thanks, the size proportion of my double knee is 29" waist, 10 1/2" thigh, 8 3/4" knee, 8 1/4" leg hem opening. Double knee would look ugly when worn slim fit imo. But you are right and I totally agree with you about hardware, i love branded hardware, expecially if blackened and slowly fades showing copper and their brand logo slowly showing, and if on the otherside of the button and rivets also detailed i mainly like that wwco because of their hardware and arc, wwco hardware is beautiful personally i think the more beautiful or the most out of brands in my country, there is a review here
https://indigoshrimp.wordpress.com/2018/03/12/warpweft-company-ex-101-jeans-review/

Mine was from the same series but the ex 301 variant, not slubby or stretchy low tension like the brand's identify with, but I got the total opposite, very uniform very dark, hairy texture, mine is not often reviewed, i have yet found picture of heavily faded example of this type (heddels have one but that looks pretty new) because the brand love to boast about their slubby bubblyness. And most people buy their ex 101 or 201 of the same series that carry those characteristics, somehow i dont like it on pants, i like slubby stuff on jackets more since i will hardly ever fade them thus can enjoy the varied color longer.

my custom order jeans is using just that standard zinc colored laurel leaf donut button and says ykk snap fastener on the back of the plain copper rivets, but i can have cinch back:) i will sacrifice hardware for cinch back i love it.

It took me a while to learn this but it finally got through my head that jeans shouldn't be work. If they don't fit they don't fit. I do not subscribe to the "soldier on" mentality at all. I have many pairs of jeans in my closet I never wear now because my balls get crushed by the rise that I sized down on. For me, if jeans aren't comfortable day1 after the first wash they're ill sized.

This is my Gustin experience! I have 4 pairs almost new sitting in a drawer. Beautiful fabric, but uncomfortable for me to wear- guess I should’ve sized up.

Hey Brother, I've been wearing a pair of Bravestar 21.5's for about three weeks now, my normal Levi size is 32 also. Tight at first, but stretching out nicely. I'll follow their washing directions to a T...
