What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

View attachment 320084 Serious beater leather. On the left 60s miklos sas NYTP horsehide jacket (extremely heavy weight). On the right Oakbrook Sears D-Pocket with mutton collar.

Seriously cool picture. I had a Miklos, awesome jacket. But that Sears takes the cake. More cool pictures and more pics of that jacket por favor. My Oakbrook doesn’t have the patch pocket or the A1 epaulettes more commonly seen on the Hercs. And mouton to boot. Awesome.

Long time lurker, first time poster. I've been using this jacket as a sort of sizing benchmark, as it is pretty close in terms of what I want in terms of fit: slim enough to look fine with just a tshirt, can still zip up comfortably, and fit a thin midlayer for really chilly days.

I think it's a Straight to Hell jacket, a brand with not a ton of info about the leather. I have an assortment of a few other TFL-famous brands, but I still go back to this consistently for fit

I know. It really is the only thing that has kept me from an IR or Elvis. I love those jackets. I want them. But I’m too brutish with my zips.

And I am really babying my zips but - alas - to no avail...

The cobbler having the latest go at my HWM was positive he could actually repair the Hookless. When I wanted to pick the jacket up, I made him engage/zip the "repaired" thing up again and again. At the 3rd go he broke it again :D.

In fairness, the other Aero No. 5´s work well, but at times (usually after a few beers) it´s really a pain to zip them up because they are so tiny.

Exactly. This pic has some serious balls. Makes the rest of us look pretty lame...:)

Agreed but I'd say it's also more about knowing how to wear exactly what you want to wear. Let's face it, do we all really want to wear jeans with leather jackets? Blue jeans, at that? I'd be all in leather every day but for some reason, I still believe it's something I cannot do. Tho I don't know why. So stupid, having to mind, let alone worry, what we wear. . .

Welcome and congrats on finally joining here. No wonder it's your go to jacket. Perfect fit.

I've been meaning to upload something for a while. It's still cold enough here to wear my grandpa's old N1 deck jacket. Turns out we're nearly the same size!

Welcome to the lounge! Your gramps deck jacket looks great on you.

Still 80% dry on the double parts on the jeans, get tighter on the waist and hip by a size at least.

Did you also get those jeans made? Killer pair

Great jacket, welcome. Not familiar with that brand, but you should check the film by the same name. Joe Strummer, The Pogues, Courtney Love, Grace Jones, & Dennis Hopper in an Acid Western about coffee? Yes please! Needs to be better known.
