Not a big deal, but this forum prefers these types of posts go in the Ask a Question Get an Answer thread. No harm so don’t stress it.

Silk ribbon is a viable option if you want something other than grosgrain.

They aren’t “cloth,” but I also like leather and snakeskin on certain hats.

Thank you i didn't know that ill do that in future. its just i'm new. I have an amazing olive felt hat that i have blocked and i want to do something different and have a material band to make it more funky and casual

The “funky” hatband crown are very underrepresented here in The Lounge. We tend to be more traditionalist (I’m less so, but still pretty tame). Have you considered a puggaree? There are certainly a lot of funky pugs and they are inexpensive and easy to change too.

If you have patience then shop the second hand or Sally Ann shops for men's silk ties. Deconstruct them and they can be turned into some really interesting/funky ribbons for your hat. Or shop Waterhollow Tweed he has great silk ties, some vintage, at great prices.
