Sorry for your sister-in-laws loss, Joe.

I'll refrain from making any jokes about Clan McGregor.
Thanks John. Oh that’s quite alright…. My own jab was in the toast ;)

to be honest though it was not that harsh on my pallet. If I remember the Costco scotch was far worse.

This past week I have been enjoying a new beer to me, Surley Yummi Bear. It is a dry, balanced West Coast IPA (bold hop aroma, bitter and citrus/piney aroma and flavor). It is an "old fashioned" West Coast IPA without the fruit taste.

Surley's Beer release accurately describes this beer: "Yummi Bear has a simple malt bill and Simcoe, Amarillo, and Citra hops, with a dank, fruity, and super aromatic character. Imagine Furious and Abrasive had a baby and raised it in a VW microbus on a northern California beach. That’s Yummi Bear. https://surlybrewing.com/intelligent-design-6-yummi-bear/"

This morning I am imbibing a Yummi Bear while grilling a pork tenderloin and veggi's for brunch.

Tried a couple of new unusual beers while watching WWE Royal Rumble last night.

Guinness Chocolate Mint Stout - Think… a subtle thin mints flavor and packed a bit of a punch ar 10.8% ABV

Next up… Boulevard Brewing Company - Stuff of Legend. This one definitely a bit of a dessert beer. Very sweet heavy taste…. That did manage to taste of “Milk’s Favorite Cookie” on the back end. Very strong ABV on this beer over 13%. I really enjoyed them both as a change of pace.

Congrats to my buddy MVP leading Bobby Lashley to a WWE championship win over Brock Lensar. Fun show

Joe; You show beers that I did not know about. Interesting flavored Guinness.

Small world, as I met Brock Lensar a couple times through a friend Brad Kohler (MMA fighter). One of his Snap Fitness locations was next to my location. When he closed I bought the assets (weights/machines/etc.). Brad is a real character. The Brad I dealt and hung with was a good guy. I know that is not always the case.

These were fun beers to try. My wife who does not enjoy beer very much actually liked these… so I imagine these will make a return here at some point.

That is very cool to hear. I know Brock is a Minnesota guy. I am not familiar with Brad… looked him up… he looks like quite a big dude!

MVP I knew from when he came up here in the Florida independent wrestling scene. Very proud of him reinventing himself these last couple years. What was intended to be a one off appearance in the Royal Rumble two years ago… just so his son could see who daddy was. Turned into a two year run that saw him elevate many of those around him and managing one of the top guys in Bobby Lashley. The Lashley/Lesnar match has always been kind of one of those “will never happen” dream matches as they both had very successful MMA careers. So very cool for it to happen… and for MVP to get to work opposite one of his mentors in Paul Heyman who was managing Brock. Very fun to watch.

Is that an inch of snow on top of it? Great cap BTW. Stay warm!

The "bar keep" was not minding the pour last night! ;) Check out tonight's post as the pour is much better.

Apologies for whining last night about the cold. Most of the US has some crazy weather and our cold is not more special than anyone else's. I hope everyone is safe and comfy.

I have been on a walkabout this evening sipping some Guinness.

Sorry, I wasn't critiquing the pour ... I just thought it was snowing so heavy that it accumulated before you could get in a sip. :p

A Guinness sounds pretty good right now. I like that cap too!

I've stopped complaining about the cold as well ...

Bob, absolutely no offense taken.

Snowed in today with a Borsalino and Founders Porter.

While binge watching Mayor of Kingstown.

I must be a knucklehead - what is TGIFHH?

Last night, under warm 20'f temps I strolled about sipping a Founders Porter.

This past weekend I was enjoying some Birdie Putt, Omni Brewing (a local brewery). This IPA was "brewed exclusively with Minnesota-grown hops and Minnesota-malted grains." It is nice to support local. I left feedback as the beer has an lingering aftertaste of some kind of citrus. Tasty, but still in development.
