Nubuck, yeah. It's a regular leather - Lambskin in this case, I believe? - that's been (very lightly here) sanded.

Actually I have a pair of nubuck Dr Martens-much more functional than suede as rain doesn't really affect the colour. Hm-not sure if it works well on a jacket, will have to see how I get along with it when it arrives!
