Amen, you have quite the collection and you do them great justice, so much character in those Freewheelers fabrics and their cut is top drawer. I have an FW N-1 arriving tomorrow (hopefully) after trying a few different makers, think I've found the right one. I hear you on the Irish winters too, I live on the same island, just further north (and colder still!)
I bought a Freewheelers N-1 a few years ago and has been my go to jacket when it gets below 2-3C. Never had any issues, super good in rain too.

Great fit compared to other makers.

Today I'm wearing the early 70's pioneer wear suede trucker that just arrived in the mail.

Aside from being a tad longer in the sleeves than I'd prefer in a jacket without adjustable cuffs, I am quite happy with the fit.

Currently my absolute favorite. Good that it is just unusually warm for the season.
The buckles of the side adjusters are a nice detail, which I like very much.
The jacket looks much better in real than in the pictures. 159E9911-6024-416D-941B-A450B26E90EE.jpeg 381C7045-21F6-4680-820B-829F1308F370.jpeg 13E901AB-C0D0-4B6A-9131-2B230081F503.jpeg

Gorgeous Highwayman. A good friend of mine owns one in Connolly as well, the hide is something special.
Thank you! The grain and haptic of Connolly leather reminds me of some kind of Leather Aero used in end of 90's / early 00´s. If I remember correctly it was a black Steerhide too (or could be a Goatskin as well) with some blue undertone/dye.

If you like it... ;-)
For me it would be too much of a good thing.
I think it's a borderline amount of suede, but the fit of the vest just wears perfectly under the jacket.
My all my wool vests are a bit roomier on the fit and bunch up a little when I button the jacket up so I decided to try the pioneer wear suede vest.
Eventually I'll get a wool vest in a slimmer more snug fit like this.
