I wear 30 in most denim and I wear size 30 in my Iron Hearts. I own 643 and 633 in 21oz. Can't speak to 777 or 888. But I'd go true to size.

Why did you ask this in classifieds?

Anyhow, use a pair of jeans you really like the fit of and measure the waist. Tag size can vary between brands, between cuts in the same brand, and even between production runs of the same cut….

Always check the size charts and take note of how each brand measures.

Iron Heart, for instance, measures differently than what you might be used to.

Oops.. i didnt know i was in the classified section. Hopefully a mod can move it.

I did measure my measurements. Went online at IR America and looked at the sizing chart for 888. It says it will shrink from 1-1.5 in, hence im thinking should i get tag 32? Went online read some posts some said true to size, some said size up…. Youtube reviews are mixed also. I dont want to make an expensive mistake.

Did you make sure to watch the “How we measure” video?

“The Iron Heart way” can produce different results than most retailers lol.

I’ve never had any of my Iron Hearts shrink below their size chart measurements (except for maybe the inseam slightly after the first wash). They definitely stretch, though.

They’ll temporarily shrink a bit after a wash but they’ll stretch back out in short order.

I wear my “usual” size in 888, but could almost size down. I had to size up one for 666 to be comfy.

To ensure you have ordered the correct size, Iron Heart strongly recommends measuring your best-fitting jeans/pants using the Iron Heart measuring method – and comparing these measurements to those published on their product page.

After placing your order IH will measure the actual waist measurement of the jeans picked up for shipping.
For 666 I had to size up two, from 31 to 33.

Hope this helps.

I own many pairs. 666 is my favourite fit. I would speak to IH on chat. They are the best customer service team of all time.

Just note selvedge denim is mostly properly sized vs vanity sizing. Most fashion denim will say 36 but may measure 38 or 40. This is to make the buyer feel better about the extra weight.

Nothing new to add to the above. Make sure you measure a pair of jeans that fit you well the IH way.

FWIW, I am a 32 in Diesel, and wear 35/36 in IH 634 and 666.

While this IH thread is open I have some minor input:
I bought 19oz jeans from the site (IH site) & the waist & particularly, the leg length were true to size. However:
The two pairs I bought off e bay pre owned but appearing to be new pairs both had the waist what it said on the label but the leg length.. it says 36” but closer to 30” lol & same kinda thing with the other pair -but if it was shrinkage from being washed why did only the leg length shrink ?
It’s a mystery & I do love a good mystery

If you order them from IH then you can request they shorten the legs to your requested length prior to shipping, Imagine that was what had happened with the eBay pairs.

Ahh right ok that makes sense.
IH sell out some of their stuff like 19oz left hand twill 888S was sold out in most sizes just now.
I like a 777 or 888 ..the 21oz feels very light I had a pair of the strike gold 25oz which seem significantly heavier
Reckon the three pairs I own will outlast my current physical body but couldn’t help wondering what the 888s will fit like as not actually tried those yet but relaxed or slim & tapered are the way to go imo

Let me add that I think the most important measurement is the thigh bc that doesn't stretch very much. So watch the video to see how they measure that. An example is I'm a 34 in a 634 but a 35 in a 666 bc of the smaller thigh measurement. My TTS waist is closer to 35. The waist will stretch.
