Hey. I just wonder if it's possible to straighten the brim of my jaccaru hat and the sides and back aswell? It used to be like on the first picture but now the brim, back and sides are a whole other shape and so I wonder what to do. The brim has a wire in it and the hat it self is very floppy.

Is the hat tight on your head, front and back? It looks to me that your head is more long oval and when it is placed on your head the fabric is pulled, north and south. That is what usually created the upturned side brim. and down turned front and back. Nothing to be done that as you are creating it. Buy a size up and live with the gap on the sides is your only real solution.

The hat is not super tight but it is tighter than most of my other hats. I think maybe I'm a long oval yeah .I can't order any bigger sizes since it's size 63 so I think I jsut gotta live with it.

Is that leather? What would happen if you steamed or moistened it and then let it dry with a hat stretcher in sideways (side to side)

There isn't much you can do unless you replace the bouncy coiled spring wire Jacaru uses, with a less flexible wire, such as medium gauge fencing wire. These Aussie leather hats invariably develope an exaggerated swoop due to the leather shrinking. If the hat is a little too small, that will also add to the sides of the brim riding up. I've had quite a few Jacarus & they have all ended up with the brim sides rising too high for my taste & so I have replaced the wire in the brims. It solves the problem but you have to baby the hat after as the brim can easily be knocked out of shape.
Your hat though, doesn't look too bad for the time being & I coud live with it.

I think I just gotta live with it then since changing the wire sounds too complitated for me.
