My burgundy blazer is a testament to the tailor who made it. What you don't see from the front is the 1930's style at the back of the jacket. Look at this:

You can see the pleats clearly because it's one solid colour.

The pleats are there, but the only tell-tale sign is the pattern change, so many commented on it.

Tucking my fingers into the pleats allows you to see the tailor's skill.

It's hard to believe that eight weeks ago we were enjoying glorious sunshine. This blazer you have seen before, probably many times, apologies for that, old age and amnesia are bed fellows. It really is an extremely well made jacket, quite obviously made to measure. Tina came across it on a vendors stall at one of the festivals we like to attend.

The countless hours that I have spent trying to find a like for like fabric so that I can get a copy made. Reason is, it's a size too small. The vendor, keen to get a quick sale, let me have it rather cheaply after I had tried it on and reluctantly handed it back, the buttons strained when fastened. He cut the price dramatically and told me to wear it open. I couldn't resist.

57 F and sunny today, but the inevitable, showers later. We used to call that Wimbledon weather, when the Wimbledon tennis tournament, with tennis fans the world over tuning in, would have an exciting match suspended as the rain covers came on. Tina & I have been to Wimbledon, it was a freebie from some company who were courting for business. Fabulous day too.

Tina loves this blazer, she encouraged me to buy it, promising to make the trousers to wear
with it. She did too, taking her cue for the colour from the blazer's stripes. My concern that it
may look like pyjamas soon went. She made my shirt too, I love it.

Hopefully this is the right place to post this! I am currently waiting for this 1939 blazer/jacket to arrive. The seller called it a 'stroller' suit jacket.

This blazer is so versatile and so well made, how lucky was I to get a deal from a vendor at some festival or other? Since my hip replacement the vintage bicycle has been my mode of choice for local shopping.

In my wardrobe are two versions of this blazer. A single breasted more modern design, with slim lapels, and this classic double breasted version. I keep meaning to ask my missus to move the inner button, it seems to have been sewn in a wrong position, so while I'm thinking about it, I'll ask her now.

Old age and amnesia seem like common bed fellows. I clean forgot to let you know about the buttons on this blazer. Tina discovered that the buttons we misaligned due to a tailoring fault. She unpicked the front panel of the blazer, corrected the button alignment and now it fits a treat.

The hat, at first, I thought wasn't the colour for the blazer, but now I am quite taken by the combination.

"A bit subdued for you," was a comment that I heard at work this morning. Then someone else came out with: "Oh I don't know, have you seen the shoes?"

Nowadays I am retired, but I help out at work because I don't have the kind of hobby that Tina enjoys. Work, for me, was never a bore, it could be tedious if a meeting was being held a couple of hours drive away and I had to be up early, but by and large work filled my day enjoyably.

At work it was always suit, collar and tie. Nowadays I indulge myself, turning up in colourful blazers. That's why this check pattern blazer was deemed tame this morning. I had forgotten about the shoes.

This the latest acquisition, made to measure by Fox Tailoring. Time to sort through the wardrobe and see what needs to go for sale/charity/retain.

What to wear to a funeral? The widower of a dear lady who had succumbed to cancer, asked all the mourners to be "colourful." We were celebrating a life rather than mourning a death. I can empathise with that. My black hat and trousers were a passing nod to respect, the blazer and shoes were well received.

One of the funeral directors asked if he could take a photo, I thanked him for the compliment but declined. However, he was delighted when I suggested texting him the above photo.

My closet only has Ralph Lauren Black Label (discontinued line). I have 2 copies of this Navy Blazer, my fave: one has worn out and one is still pretty new as a backup.

The navy blazer is so classic—it goes with everything and instantly upgrades one’s outfit.

We get asked to go to MG meetings quite regularly, the message is all but a plead at times when other owners might be away on a sunshine break. This MG meeting was a case in point, the model shown is known as the Y-Type, our's is on the far left. We, as always, dressed the part, but we still couldn't upstage our car.

The trousers that she made turned out so well that I cheekily said that she should have made a shirt too. A week later she presented me with the shirt that I am wearing.

Nice job. I'd agree with the analysis that it was an orphaned suit jacket, but you've completely lighted on a way of wearing it that doesn't make it look as such. Of course, as has been discussed many times over on TFL over the years, it's a very legitimate period look in and of itself to reuse an older suit jacket with other trousers.
