Very nice! I saw that they changed the formula. Will be interesting to see how this one ages.
The old one (Conipel hide) was always a Looker, but many folks needed topside up dramatically to make it work.

I always thought, the issues came with the pattern, not from the leather, but the Blattwerk sure looks nice from the first impressions.
Agreed, uncharted territory for this leather and me honestly. Really gonna enjoy the journey with this one. I would not mind the previous version, but have been fascinated by blattwerk leather for a little while now so this seemed to worthy choice to make.

That’s awesome man she finally warmed up to the idea of jackets and is having her own custom jacket made with Johnson’s here are photos of the two contenders even tho I already chose the 370 duke I also fell in love with the delivery jacket in bison maybe I get it for myself for Xmas View attachment 752757 View attachment 752758
Hey boys so in the first picture you can see pointing at a jacket I own that same jacket but in the black horse hide it’s their mechanic jacket. I noticed they had it in a new color and that’s nothing new to me. It’s before they had posted it on the site. I didn’t think anything of it because I already owned the jacket in Black then I’m looking online and it’s made of Horween hh but the sticker is 1875 $ I love shcott jacket, but anyone else think that’s a bit outrageous

That’s pretty much my thoughts as well. One of Schotts appeals to me is that they still offer good value for money by and large.
One of the classic Perfectos for around USD 1.000 is pretty awesome, IMO.

The pricing of the ”specials” has always been a bit on the high side, but this season they just overdo it.
The CHPs/Perfecto jacket from last months is really nice, but man - USD 1.800?
This one here is plainly too expensive. A trucker is not really an elaborate pattern to do, and the hide is not exactly fancy as well.

I think I paid around USD 1.200 for my Shinki-Perfecto last year. That was a minimal surcharge for a hide that is pricey per se. Can’t see why Horween should be so much more expensive.

Having owned quite a number of the heavy Horween jackets, both horsehide and steer, I've come to really dislike them.Too heavy, too stiff until they warmed up,and hate the way they mark up if you look at them the wrong way. Its not patina,it's fake ageing. I've heard all this stuff about it makes the jacket unique, every scratch tells a story, the depth of colour ,:)..sorry but im not buying it. I put a nasty scratch on the front of a new Highwayman just taking it out the carrier bag, from my thumbnail !!! That bugged me every time I wore it.
Gimme whatever hides ,Schott, vanson or lost worlds are using. Horween is fine for shoes or boots ,,Schott should stick to what they do best.

Schott size medium has always fit me perfectly regardless of the pattern, so I was one of the gullible fools to bite on this jacket.

Haven't made up my mind on keeping it or not, but fortunately Schott does have a phenomenal return policy. @X83 and @Tom71 the price is pretty outrageous. That being said the website lists the jacket as made in "exceptional Horween horsehide," which I think is a fair statement. Not the best lighting but the jacket just arrived.

If I do keep it though, besides the fit, the quality of the leather will be the reason. This is veg tan full aniline leather, completely different than the chromexcel stuff I've previously experienced. Still very robust, but when I quickly tried it on moving around was fine, and I'd imagine it would be beautiful once broken in. Even the buttons were easy to use. Best way I could describe this leather is more like artisinal horsehide, like the Maryam hide I bought for my custom Vanson, or that you see used for a lot of custom boots. Just look at the grain on the back panels, it's all over the jacket. Lastly, the color!

-Cheers

To my untrained eye, this looks like the kind of jacket nobody would bat an eye if it went for 3k made by Rainbow Country or RMC.
