I have a pair of rough out Iron Rangers and gave them a going over with walking boot treatment, can't remember which. They aren't exactly rough out now as they have a slight sheen but it avoids all the stains! On the other hand, the stains show they've been around the block a few times...

These are my roughout engineer boots. Red Wing's Hawthorne Muleskinner roughout. You simply can't wipe off or saddle soap the flesh side, like you can with the grain side. Things get into the flash side of the leather, as opposed to staying on the surface.

I really like the feel of the grain side of the leather on the inside of the boot. With my lifestyle, the roughout flesh side just gets all messed up. Same thing with suede and nubuck. Same reason why I can't have those lighter colors. If I could only keep the shoes clean, I would have bought Iron Rangers and moc-toes in Hawthorne Muleskinner.

I think that would be a great boot for someone that likes the on/off ease of a cowboy boot but doesn't necessarily want the cowboy boot stitching and styling. Also, it's not too far over on the squared toe, hard-core work boot.

This might just be my next everyday boot.

I use Tarrago Nanotech spray or the more expensive Safir spray for my roughout boots. It helps keep those drip spots from forming. Roughs are tough during the babying phase of new boots but then get to be a cool patina and worry less about it.

Also is this the lighting or do those look orange I really would like my Hawthorne Pecos to have an orangeness to them. Lol some say some lights make people look orange.

Also I just got brown engineers so I havent done so yet but the Supersole brown Pecos look so appealing. I love the Pecos so far comfortable and loving the easy on/off of it. The minor gripe is pants adjustment when putting it on.

Also if you have one around the Redwing store has an electronic foot measuring machine is fascinating it keeps a record of your sizing. I was able to use it for the Pecos.

Hard to say. I would imagine that everything looks different under different lights.

Don't ask me how I know.
Hachi machi. Two way different colors I checked on the patina app and the results seem pretty typical with rough outs, similar to my Lofgren combat boots, an earthy brown.

For the orange-ish hue I may need the Oro or one of those untanned natural boots, for a similar effect.

Also I just edited out who mentioned the remark on how certain lighting affect on colors. Can you axe the mention as well in reply. Thanks for the heads up. I would not want to get the bump, that’s for sure. Seems like a job for the boys at f.l.a.s.k.

You do not have constitutionally protected free speech on any web forum. You type in whatever you want. The people who operate the website can censor, edit out, delete, block your account, or whatever........ based on whatever it is that they feel. You don't have to post anything illegal, or immoral. You get the bump based on whatever it is that they don't like. Even if it's simply a matter of them having a different opinion.

I've been looking at a Pecos boot and found these Rough and Tough Pecos boots. I've been wanting to add an easy wearing Cowboy boot for awhile. Sizing, I had to go down a half size even from my Red Wing Classic Moc sizing.

With laceless boots I go my sneaker size due to high arches.

It takes a whole lot more than that to get banned on this Forum. Unless a post is particularly egregious, at least one warning will be given before a permanent ban is effectuated.

The only way to get the right fit is to try the shoes on. This is why I still have not purchased Pacific NorthWest boots. There's no local store for me to walk into, try on shoes, and get the right fit. I just can't imagine sending in an inaccurate tracing of my foot, and expecting that to be good. It's not like buying pants on Amazon. There's no free shipping and free returns. You can't order 5 of them, keep the 1 you like, then ship 4 of them back for free.

Been breaking in the new heritage loggers in black and my god, they’re fantastic. Neck and neck with iron rangers for me.
I just picked up a new pair in the Briar, and I’m loving them as well. I much prefer them over the Truman Uplands I had previously. The last just really works for my foot, like most RW.

They’re way more comfortable than I was anticipating. I switched the laces out on mine to some solid black and they’ve been my daily driver ever since.

Been eyeing the briar too. How do you like the color?

I love the moc toe style. I have a pair of Danners, thoroughgood, and now a pair of redwings (gore Tex). I dont know how anyone could say they are comfortable right out of the box. They are all pretty dreadfully uncomfortable and I can’t fit a softer insert in any of them. Ironically the cheap brand of moc toe boots(Golden fox, I think?)that I bought off of Amazon are the only ones that are comfortable. To be fair, I haven’t worn out the red wings yet but I’m dreading the process of breaking them in.
