Thank you so much, Vezio.
I used to be quite active on TFL back in the days when I was researching and buying my first jacket. From there I bought, sold, traded, and bought more and more jackets looking for "just the right one". At this point I have spent a few thousand dollars and lost near the same in this search. While I still believe absolutely nothing looks as good as the CXL Horween, I just simply never found it comfortable. This jacket doesn't present like the CXL, but I'd say it holds its own with a great look, but the most important thing to me is that I am wearing it. Because it is comfortable, it doesn't just sit in the closet and collect dust. I plan to get more active on TFL again because there were always fun and interesting people and lots of great photos and such to view. Thank you again for your comments. It is this feedback that one is always looking for, I think, when we post photos. I don't want to just be made to feel good, but I am always really looking for the honest and transparent views from others. Have a wonderful weekend!

Have a nice weekend too.

I’m seriously considering a Sheene for my first Aero. Was going to do CXLFQHH, but your posts have me reconsidering. I don’t mind a little bit of a break-in, but I don’t want to have to wait several years for my jacket to be comfortable. Plus, I live in Florida and I don’t want anything that’s going to be too stiff or too heavy for the kind of weather we get here. I already have a Schott 613 that I can use when it’s really cold and it’s a little oversize so I can fit several layers under it. I’m looking for something for spring and fall. I am still leaning towards horse side because we get a lot of rain here and I think it will handle that better. I was just curious if you could post some pics of your jerky horsehide jacket and some comparison pics with your chromexel HH jacket to see how they have aged, since you last followed up in this thread, as well as give us some comments on how they are both aging/breaking in.

Man I wish I could. I lost 45 lbs so all that old stuff got sold. I now have an Aero HH A2 “Bronco”, but I bought it second hand so I don’t have initial photos. It is Vicenza and I’d say a good balance between the jerky and the CXL. It is slightly lighter in weight and a little less rigid. I’d say perfect for Florida. As for the Sheene, it remains my favorite pattern that I have owned. Perfection

If you live in Florida, I would not even consider CXL. It would be hard for me to consider a leather jacket at all in Florida - I have relatives who have lived there. Too damp and humid overall.

Honestly, unless you just are fully in love with the Sheene pattern, and in that climate, there are many other better choices what will be more breathable and comfortable for warmer weather wearing.

Admittedly we only get chilly weather a few weeks to a few months out of the year, but I love leather. And I’m ready to graduate from my Schott 613 (which is about a size too big for me).

I’ve always admired Aero. May consider jerky or pinnacle horsehide with a lining that is climate appropriate. Waiting for the proverbial tax refund before I start serious talks with Carrie about specifics.

The Sheene seems like it might be a flattering style for my body. We’ll see once I fit test.
