Thankyou! Scissors were used, with a nail file to finish. I've done it a few times now and it works perfectly. I don't think there is anywhere within a few hundred kilometres that does work on hats, though if i'm wrong i'd love to find out where.
Picker, Is that a black or Carbon grey? looks great.
This is my Fed, if you can still call it a Fed. 2 inch wide brim, re re done ribbon. A few days from now I will be doing a bronzey goldish brim binding also, i'm just practicing on another hat first.
The brim is stingyrific! honestly though the brim doesn't appear to be that short...
I trimmed my Fed to 2 1/8th inches, uniform. Suits a thinner framed person better in my opinion.
Pics are on page 73 of this thread if you want to see, though I am cutting it down to 2 inches a bit later, and I have redone the ribbon again since those photos to a really puffy, flying V type...
Thanks monbla, I will check out the website later tonight when i have some time. I think the campdraft would make me look a bit like a stick insect though, the Fed size is already pushing the envelope.
James, If you have decent front on pics of the CEO and the squatter, i'd love to see them! I...
Thanks Neo!

Cheers,
Danny

The brim shape? They look the same.
The ribbon's are different widths. City hatters in Melbourne actually have bogart's with stylemaster type bashes, as well as the centredent type.
Thanks VitaminG!
Fairly rough handling was required, and plenty of steam.
sortof bending and folding the felt in the opposite direction that it was to begin with, if that makes sense? and putting a smooth surface on the inside and rubbing against it with my thumb from the outside.
I heard that...
I used the cheap 'measure outward, close eyes, hack at it with scissors and hope you still have a hat afterwards' method...
finishing of with my sister's nail file.
I have practiced on an old cattleman previously so I was fairly confident, marking with a sharp pencil.
Also have plans for an...
