Thanks ShoreRoadLady
Thanks ShoreRoadLady. I'm surprised with the retro-movie fans here that there have not been more replies. I was kinda hoping someone might know the inner workings of Hollywood and know how to go about getting a shot of a scene, or if that was just a crazy pie-in-the-sky...
Any loungers know if it is possible to get a photo or clip of a deleted Indiana Jones IV scene? They had a beautiful overview of a church in West Haven, CT (NOT the New Haven church). Unfortunately, that scene was cut from the movie. I thought it might show up in the extra shots when the...
Thanks... I had not seen that picture/thread yet. I must admit that my first reaction was to wince at the sight of a crushed fedora.
It goes well with your avatar... sort of looks like your arm is leaving the avatar photo and then entering the thread with the hat.
Christy
I rather like the red folding Christy above! The folding Christy the thread originally intended (but please feel free to stray off topic again!) is a folding fedora made by Christy's of London. It comes with a storage tube, which now that I think about it, is red. Coincidence? Hmmm...
lighting
I'm no cinematographer, and I am sure there are some hanging about the lounge, but one consideration in picking a hat might be the lighting. Will they have the equipment to compensate for any shadows a larger brim might cast on your face, etc.?
Thanks
Thanks for taking the time to reply and post a picture, HarpPlayerGene. Even though your Borsalino is in a different container, the photo has inspired me to go ahead and fold up the Christy.
I bought a Christy folding fedora a while back (the kind that fit in a tube). I stored it unfolded and placed the open hat on top of the tube. I was surprised at how well it held it's shape. Now I need the storage space, so want to fold it up inside the tube. Do you think I can find the...
Indiana Jones
I was thrilled to spend one day on the set of Indiana Jones while they were filming in New Haven, CT. I drove my grandfather's car, a maroon 1948 Plymouth two door coupe, in the traffic of one chase scene. Another scene will show the car up better (hopefully for more than a...
Yes... and no...
Guys that were lucky enough to have a look under the hood of that Buick saw a souped-up Chevy 350 V8. That car had one heck of a suspension system... whatever it was!
hat?
It just dawned on me that in all the takes I saw, I did not see a fedora on Harrison Ford's (or his double's) head! I saw a bunch of takes of the car/motorcycle chase scene, so perhaps they did away with the hat for that wild ride. I did see a few more takes of him off the motorcycle...
Yale
They've been filming in downtown New Haven, CT. I don't know what percentage of the storyline takes place there, but that's where they've been for the last week or so.
Wasn't he a pilot in WWII?
Thanks for putting the announcement here, as this is the first I heard of his passing. I don't want to start false rumors, but wasn't he some kind of a WWII pilot or soldier?
mine is light blue-grey
A few comments (not completely random I hope!).
RBH - Love your new avitar! A stratoliner, I assume... where is it?
Tony - I suppose you have noticed that the brown of your Stratoliner seems to be an exact match to the brown of your eyes. Amazing.
Douglas -...
do follow-up please
What an interesting thread... taking several twists and turns, but coming back to the original topic.
Joel, good luck resolving this matter. Once you put the charge in dispute, I think that will put an abrupt end to the financial saga. If you have any further follow-up...
Fellow lounger/vendor
If you're paying for a custom made hat, I bet John is familiar with the type of hat you are looking for. Here's a link to one page of styles available. He's got quite a few to look at:
