peircings with classic vinatge, not rockabilly...opinions please! :)

I had mine done in '96. I took it out a couple years later. The danger in tongue rings is it can damage nerves in your tongue making biting you tongue more of a risk and biting on the barbell while you chew because your tongue moves differently. I broke a back tooth when eating and accidently...

    Show us your hair do's....

Wet set using magnetic rollers and plenty of setting lotion or gel. A larger diameter roller will give you the smoothness and hold you are seeking. Brush the heck out of it using a bristle brush (not boar bristle, use plastic bristle or the set will not hold) As you brush it out (brush it...

    Favorite Vintage Perfumes

My all time favorite is Lauren by Ralph Lauren though it only came out in 1978. Older than that is Vanilla Extract just a dab behind the ears. It is what my grandmother would wear. On occasion I use Vintage Rose extract.

    Besame Ladies

I am a huge fan of Besame, especially their Red Velvet liner combo but noticed it is no longer on the site. I sent them an email but thought I would ask here as well if anyone has any info if they will ever offer this again or eventually offer the liner separately. I am on my last liner the...

    Other than red lipstick

I know the title says other than red but when i think red I think Crayola RED. I mostly wear Besame Red Velvet line in the coordinating liner. I sometimes darken/blend the edges with Sephora 941d #12 Chic Choco (note: blended well no tacky dark line around the lips. Blended softly over the color...

    Cute Vintage-y Shoes

Been drooling over these for the last year on eBay!

Do you see a time when you stop wearing vintage?

My biggest issues are 1. finding "cute" vintage or vintage style clothes that fit for ample bosom (think Christina Hendricks) , 2. Aren't insanely overpriced, 4. I was recently diagnosed with a chronic pain condition which takes more effort to accomplish the simple things once taken for granted...

Weird info I came across... Marilyn and Liz

Another neat little fact about Elizabeth is she was born covered in hair! She was born suffering from the condition hypertrichosis, a rare disease that leaves the victim with a thick, dark coat of hair covering their entire body. A la the famous Wolfboys. Luckily for her though the hair fell...

Weird info I came across... Marilyn and Liz

I came across an odd fact about Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor a couple days ago and thought it would make for an interesting topic. Have any of you heard the fact that one of the daily beauty routines of both stars (as well as others that won't come forward with this because it is Taboo in...

    Homemade Cosmetics

Keep in mind that Jojoba oil is not really an oil. It is actually a liquid wax and is typically used to help extend the shelf life of other oils. All the oils I mentioned prior work great at removing makeup and as moisturizers. I typically use Hazelnut as a good duel purpose oil as well as a...

Rollers to avoid (aka Rollers of Death)

Yes, Velcro roller are intended for use in shorter hair no more than 1 to 1.5 turns on the roller and give a soft curl/wave. The plastic rollers are best for long hair and if you are wanting a set to last or product strong results like is needed for the majority of the vintage styles. Foam...

    Homemade Cosmetics

I make Handcrafted soaps, bath salts, lip balms, body powder. Everything using traditional hand stirred methods. I also have a website kissingmoons.com if anyone is interested in browsing. I know I am biased but my customers would agree that some of the best face cleanser is handcrafted castile...
