    I love the Fed IV!!

I just took delivery of the Akubra Rough Rider in Loden to go with my Tablelands in Brown Olive and my Blue Mountains in Bluegrass thanks to all of the encouragement here. Coming next will be the Fed IV deluxe. I see that the site says 1930s Shape Specs: Brim: Dipped Front with Raised Back &...

    Akubra Overload

Ah, someone else who spells favourite the same way as I was taught! Tough to say. Tablelands was my first and I fitted it with the chin strap. It got most of the use specially on windy days until I got the wider brimmed Blue Mountains (while I am born and raised in Africa I have very fair skin)...

And then there were 3! Rough Rider in Loden arrived yesterday to compliment my Blue Mountains in Bluegrass and the Tablelands in Brown Olive.

My collection is beginning to grow. I just took delivery of the Akubra Rough Rider in Loden to go with my Tablelands in Brown Olive and my Blue Mountains in Bluegrass. There may even be a Federation IV coming soon too. Up until now I have been using old mesh routers to balance the hats on and...

    I love the Fed IV!!

Greetings all. I have two Akubras - Blue Mountains in Bluegrass and the Tablelands in Brown Olive, size 59 (7 1/4). This whole quest started a few years ago after watching the Justified series. I have a fairly narrow face and hesitated before getting the larger Blue Mountains after already...

    Akubra Overload

After lots of great advise here helping me choose my first Akubra, I just received my second one. I did a quick writeup here https://www.fortvic.com/2021/11/27/the-hattery/

    Pocket Knife

My new customized Honey Badger ball bearing flipper. White scales, red back spacer with black screws and pocket clip. I think it complements my Akubra Tablelands nicely!

    Akubra Overload

Thanks for your input. Today I kept the hat on for a number of hours doing some yard work etc. Maybe I am imagining it but I am already feeling a difference and that's without the foam inserts. Not sure if I am ready for the hat to be my fashion statement yet to the extent that it goes...

    Akubra Overload

Thanks @johnnycanuck and @Zombie_61 So it seems that there is more than one way of doing this. I took the foam out and it does not feel like the hat will blow off my head even though it's slightly too big so I will leave it out for now. I guess I am slightly long oval. If I put slight pressure...

    Akubra Overload

@Zombie_61 I See that you have commented previously about breaking your Akubras. My Tablelands is a touch too big. I put the felt strips in on both side and sits snugly on my head now. The problem is that the shape does not match the shape of my head with a little too much space on the sides...
