That has always been my gripe as well. I find that website marketing photos don't always do a very good job capturing the finish of item, especially leather ones.
It is frustrating but, when the general population demands disposable; cheep is what we get.

New Red Wing 899
Doing my part to keep the RW thread on top.
I wanted to show off my new RW 899s. If you are in the U.S. they are part of RWs regular boot line, in other markets they are sold under their Heritage Line as Heritage Loggers.

Red Wing Shoe Company has had a significant presence in the U.S. footwear industry for well over a century and they continue to produce a high quality product while providing what I have experienced to be excellent service. Although they do produce a portion of there line...
I would use it. I carry my business and personal cards in a black chrome case (similar in appearance to a patined silver). The card case is one of my daily pocket accouterments.
As long as you carry and use it in a matter-of-fact way, you should not come off as being showy. Keeping...
It is time to drag another old thread back to the top. I have been looking for information about the Work America line of boots with no success. Does anybody have more information about where they are made and what the quality is?
Thanks,

Case knives sure are still made in the USA, they are made in Bradford PA, the same place as Zippo lighters. I will be visiting the Zippo / Case Museum on Saturday and looking for a new addition to the collection.
I have a few case knives and 95 percent of the time the knife I have in my...

The cap looks really good. It sits well and the brim looks a little longer than a off the rack model. I love the look.
What did you use for the brim stiffener and the cap liner?

I too buy durable goods based on exactly that, how durable they are. Kitchen items and home furnishings make up the majority my used acquisitions, but an increasing portion of my dress clothes are also lightly used. I try to buy as many household items as I can from second had shops, antique...
My reasoning for including the zip code was that if I give someone my mailing address it would be cleaner looking and less confusing to only add the street and street number.
The Tree is not a stock image, it is based on an art tree image I found several yeas ago and adopted as a personal...
New Cards
Well I finally got my calling cards printed and I wanted to drop one in The Lounge to get some feedback. I know that they are not the traditional size (they are business card size), but this way I can keep them with my Business cards. Next time I wil probably be ordering full size...

Congratulations on adding a great jacket to your collection. My now wife bought me my Detroit Jacket the first Christmas we were dating. Sadly, after eight years the jacket was retired this week.
That jacket will serve you well.
