Good point, I didn't think of that. I was going to suggest it might have something to do with the waist, but I didn't think of suspenders. Not in the vintage mindset yet, I guess.

    Spam

For those that don't know, apparently spam is a contraction of "spiced ham", though more commonly known as the ominous "sliced pork....and more." If you haven't tried, the only spice you can really taste is salt- not that it makes it any less tasty, in a fast food sort ofway.

    I dont care...

My philosophy has always been, leaving the house is enough reason to dress well. I see depp agrees- leaving the big house is enough reason to make sure your hat looks right ;)

To my eye, it wasn't so much the cut as the way it was hanging. Even with a full cut, sometimes you see certain points on the pants which are pulling, disrupting the proper lines. Of course, it's mush easier to see in motion, and I could have been wrong my assessment.

    Neckerchief

I always thought they were almost like a work version of an ascot, the way a cowboy hat is a work version of a fedora in that they're designed for utility, but to evoke the image of a formal dress. As far as I know, the neckerchiefs were used a bit like a sweatband.

Man, I was going to ask to see examples of a little more conservative, business like cut but you knocked the wind out of me with that picture. You might be hearing from me soon =)

    Flash your Zippo lighter here

I used to smoke cigarettes, but have since converted to cigars and some flammables not quite so brown. For me, I've found that if I enjoy the taste, the zippo tends to ruin it. For that reason I prefer butane for my cigars. I definitely relate to all of those that trouble filling it properly...

    Spam

My god, a spam thread! A "meat" that has truly survived the test of time- better than our fedoras, I might add. Just to add to the discussion, Koreans use spam in a bunch of stuff, most notably kim bap- rice wrapped in seaweed, much like sushi, but the focus isn't raw fish. Usually some...

    What are you wearing today??

Now THAT is a cool kilt. Somehow, I don't think my family has its own tartans. By the way, is that waist pouch supposed to look like a terrier? A few since I got my beloved cavanagh Today with And one from a bit colder weather

    Ascots

I personally prefer a single button open also, but there are many stylish men who would go with two. It all depends on what suits your own style and physical features. And since i'm posting, a blue ysl ascot that i love though I doubt I'd find too many fans of the shoes I was wearing...

It has to do with the way the the pants hang around the hamstrings, i think. It's a shame you're getting rid of it. I'd snap that up in a second if it was my size
