I carry 2 Opinels, a #6 in my pocket and a #8 in my 'man bag'. French made design thats been around for along time, simple, has a carbon blade that can be sharpened to shave with and best of all, cheap to buy (+/-$10)
Locking the blade is a simple ring that turns
Both of these blades are new, the top one I forced the patina to give it a bit of an aged look since it will look like that over time anyways.
You can get them in stainless but I prefer the classic carbon blades

I'll get up pics of mine when I finish it, but I have a custom hand-forged "adventure knife" modeled somewhat in style to this
but without the dramatic drop point. I'm still working on the handle, but when it's done I'll post pics...

I haven't heard of Opinel before now, but for the price I just ordered a #6 carbon steel. Those look completely cool, and I am partial to carbon steel from using/owning straight razors.

I have had numerous requests to see my Vintage Schrade Hunting Knife Collection. I have several that haven't arrived yet. A couple are undergoing some restoration that I bought just to use as parts.

Years ago I read an article where the author said that he loved carrying pocket knives and carried one for each day of the week. Needless to say I liked that idea and that's the way I carry pocket knives to this day. As I find something new, knives are rotated out, but here is my current lineup
From top left:
Mon: Puma Gent model w/ stag grips
Tue: Fury Little Mustang - cheap, but very sharp! And it fits my hand nicely
Wed: Gerber w/ stag grips and engraved bolsters
Thur: Kershaw Chive
Fri: CRKT Rollick
Weekend: Remington R-5 w/ wood grips (I've carried one of these for over twenty years. It used to be my only pocket knife)
The one on the bottom is a Browning w/ Mother of Pearl and engraved blade and it's my fancy/Sunday go to meetin' knife
And there you have it. The sweet thing about a collection like this is that it's not too expensive to get started and you can change according to your taste and financial circumstances later on... have fun!

Smith & Wesson Horse Series. Blade length: 3.6". I don't like the handle in "Zytel", but it's a good knife for a daily service.

I have three of the Kukries, Awsome knives. If you want a real one that will shave hair and chop down a tree I recomend http://www.himalayan-imports.com/ . This is where I purchased mine from. Read up on them as there are diferent designes for diferent pourposes.
