Brushing: which direction?

Dear community:
I'm confused in which direction I have to brush.

I made this picture to make clear what I mean.
Is the way I brush the brim correct? (picture 1 &2)
Which way do I brush the crown. I heard both, from front to back and countercklockwise as shown in picture 3 and 4.

Please help me

Always counter clockwise for the top of the hat including the crown, and clockwise for the bottom of the brim
That's 1 & 2 for your pictures

ouch! Upon closer inspection, I've been brushing the underside of the brim the wrong direction this whole time! whoops. I don't brush hats every day, so I don't think there is any harm done.

I'm glad I'm not the only one, Bowlerman. Why have I never bothered to think that counter clockwise, when viewed from the bottom, is clockwise? Luckily I too, have seldom had to brush them.

Akubras need to be done the opposite since they are from south of the equator, right????? Just kidding....
I do the crown & brim top counter clockwise, underside of brim clockwise & JP's video shows for the final brushing.
I typically brush against the grain to loosen dust & marks then with it to finish.
